In the last months, we have been thinking about how to support artists by using the NFTs. After to speaking to several DAOs, we decided to pick up on the idea of an NFT Fair which has been brought up by Demonstra DAO.
In order to support each other and nurture creativity and collaborations within the ecosystem, we will therefore organize an NFT fair in between DAOs, meaning each DAO buys artworks from the other DAOs through Astro.
In July we will use a part of our budget to buy NFTs from the other participating DAOs based in Portugal.
In the first fair we thought of the following DAOs to participate (sorry I’m not able to link all council members):
Very good @tabear ! I think it’s a necessary action to encourage our work and our ecosystems.
I think it would be very good if we could think of a visual identity creation, a specific program that encourages the participation/outside visitation of others, and a virtual place to exhibit the works.
Think of the structure of this NFTs fair as a regular art fair.
We can think of a series of actions linked to the fair and the sale of works.
Count on me to expand the project even further!
Amazing! Sounds all good. muti has a space on NEARhub for example, which could be an option, or we could rent a CV space as well, if you would be interested in that.
As for visuals, I agree? Let’s talk next week about details? muti will definitely include this value in the monthly budget so this post serves for all the DAOs to include it in the budgets if needed
(Some DAOs were not able to spend the entire 200$ because of delays in the funding process).
As I believe all DAOs wish to continue working on this process and take this art fair to the next level, I propose that we still request 200$-250$/DAO for the month of August.

visual identity
next fair, probably online
the next one, ideally with a physical presence on 1 or more galleries
collaborate with partner Mintbase to increasy their role and the visibility of the project
collaborate with partner 3XR to increase their role and the visibility of the project
entice other DAOs to join us and develop efforts to grow the base of this project
develop a system to facilitate the browsing of nfts (either using 3xr galleries, a simple website or an excel spreadsheet with NFTs and information; the ability of each DAO to showcase the NFTs they curated is really important
In the most recent edition of NFTropolis, Garden Collective DAO purchased a total of 21 NFTs via the astrodao from 5 different DAOs, which you can see in the spreadsheet here, and also in our Astrodao:
The total spend was 46 NEAR converted from DAI (as we are still awaiting August funds) and the other 50 DAI has been kept for the creation of the visual identity of NFTropolis.
As I believe all DAOs wish to continue working on this process and take this art fair to the next level, I propose that we still request 200$-250$/DAO for the month of August.
