INTRODUCTION
According to Aristotle in his Poetics; Drama is an imitation of action.
This is the basic building block of the Thespians DAO. We want to use Drama to communicate the importance of the web3 Ecosystem and the NEAR Protocol.
Many Entertainers tend to forget the origin of entertainment, which is Drama (on stage); before the introduction of Film (Motion Picture) in 1877 by the American Photographer, Eadweard Muybridge. We want to use the Thespians DAO to trace back the root and dig out those awesome moments that come with watching Drama live on stage.
The THESPIANS DAO is a community of Actors & Actresses who perform for both Stage and Film; including the crew members behind the stage and camera.
The DAO uses the acting platform to educate, entertain and give solutions to world problems, using the NEAR Ecosystem as it’s driving force.
The DAO would help to portray Actors & Actresses as world changers; in the same hand appreciate the efforts of crew members who work behind the stage or scene to make these audio-visual contents a reality.
Thespians DAO would, through its dramatic, captivating and entertaining activities, onboard people from different walks of life into the NEAR Ecosystem; because Drama is the easiest way to communicate, as it has to do with imitation of actions of men. So, it is easily relatable.
TWO BRANCHES OF THE THESPIANS DAO
The DAO operates under two branches, one is STAGE and the other is FILM
STAGE: We would be hosting entertaining staged events that would be ticketed and sometimes free. Most of our ticketed events would be purchased using the $NEAR. This would give our audience the opportunity to experiment with $NEAR, as well as the community at large.
FILM: We will also be shooting film projects that would be sold as NFTs; and also use the platform to advertise the importance of being an active member on the NEAR Protocol. We will have to our credit; movies, music videos, documentaries, interviews and commercials; striving around the scope of the NEAR Ecosystem.
Some of our Stage and Film Projects would be transmitted live on the Metaverse and tickets would be sold using $NEAR.
In time to come, we would be able to host concerts and award nights on the metaverse; to appreciate many Thespians around the world.
THESPIANS DAO’s PURPOSE
The purpose of the Thespians DAO is to create platforms for Actors and Actresses to freely express their creativity and heal the world through dramas and films. And to also appreciate the effort put in place by crew members who work tirelessly behind the stage and camera to make these works of Art a success.
FOUNDERS
Thespians DAO is founded by two Film Makers.
@roxy is a graduate of Theatre & Film Studies, University of Nigeria Nsukka. He has been practicing Stage and Film production for over 10 years. He’s a topnotch Cinematographer and Editor in Lagos, Nigeria
@dandyjj is a Production Manager, Lighting Designer and a Drone Pilot. His works center on making sure a production goes smoothly as planned and targets met, despite the challenges that come with Stage and Film Production
