Statistics regarding proposals received, the total amount approved and rejected in 2023, with a comparison to 2022,
Social scores on web2 and web3,
Fallbacks and learnings.
This report seeks to present a balanced and transparent view of CreativesDAO’s funding practices and foster a more informed and objective discourse about CreativesDAO.
As CreativesDAO is one of the funding nodes on NEAR, the report will add value by increasing transparency in our ecosystem. We believe that it will play a key role as a foundation for the year 2024.

Disclaimer: The current team joined in June 2022, and the previous team left, granting full independence to the current council in the middle of August 2022. Data from 2022 includes only approved proposals and their respective amounts. From October 2022 until the end of February 2023, the CDAO functioned with a break as a NEAR funding node.
CDAO finalized evaluation metrics in close cooperation with NF and its community. Additionally, the team took the necessary steps to go live as a funding node, including setting up a new Sputnik DAO contract, getting the Creatives DAO trust to go live, updating social media profiles, and establishing internal processes.

In July, the Giraffe agency was onboarded as the CDAO’s official SMM.
CDAO made two payments totaling $13,000, however, the outcomes were far from satisfactory and no report has been delivered.

CDAO has been on NEAR Social since the 1st of July 2023. Since then, the team has approved 38 function calls and gained more than 320 on-chain followers. Creativesdao.sputnik-dao.near was created on the 30th of January 2023. Since its creation, it has voted on 264 proposals and produced more than 1,000 on-chain transactions, all this managed by humans.
Moreover, the CDAO community was extremely active on NEAR Social in 2023, based on the data from Index: by trendingpostbos.near | Near Social
Initiatives focused mainly on supporting art creation do not add value for the DAOs and the broader ecosystem,
The DAO should broaden its scope to support individuals who seek to leverage NEAR in their projects, not limiting itself to communities,
The DAO should leverage web3 tools for community management,
The Charter will have to be revised based on the new and fresh approach,
Funding should occur on a milestone basis rather than upfront.

Creatives DAO distributed $306,715 in 2023 over the course of 10 months (-80.35% from 2022 with $1,560,834 distributed over the course of 9 months).
It’s not something to be proud in terms of expanding, but we did our best to be fiscal responsible in distributing funding (Still, we had setbacks in items related to partnership & IRL events).
This report tells us what to take care for 2024 and provide insights for our budget plan for NDCV1.
