RMT: END OF Q2 REPORT 03/01/22 - 06/30/22 Reddit MODS Team Report

Hi fellow Nearians, I hope everyone is doing fine, I would like to start thanking the Reddit Team and the @ConciergeTeam for the amazing help, ideas and performance they managed to bring for the past 3 months, what a journey!

As per today we are sitting at 11,381 Members it was definitely expected to reach over 10K members since in Q1 we had a growth of 96.7%.

We started this quarter with 7579, which indicates that we grew by 50.16% during this quarter, our main goal was to reach over 15K members, unfortunately due to market instability, sentiment and various internal changes we weren’t able to reach that yet, which became our main priority and will be reached soon.

With that being said, everything is bigger and better now, we managed to organize events, boost engagement and create an actual relationship with our community even during hard times, the Near community loves discussing and helping each other in the subreddit which is a phenomenon we haven’t seen before, all due to the higher quality of content and overall growth, taking in consideration that in Jan 2022 we were sitting at 4459 members.

As we can see, currently we have an average of 80 authors per week which around 11 posts per day, and usually 20% of those are new users, 2 times more than previous quarter.

Our main priority is to double those results for the next quarter.

The total amount of posts we had for this quarter are 1460 which equals to 486 per month, with an upvote ratio of 92% for a total of 7724, which as we know, upvotes make the posts discoverable and visible on the homepage due to similar interest.

Let’s now move to what has the team accomplished so far; we definitely had some roadblocks during q1 and lack of team work but during q2 we focused our main priority on that and we managed to create an amazing team work environment. Looking forward what we could accomplish as a team during Q3.

Main goals that were completed during Q2

  • Provide quality support to users by implementing a Help Flair for posts
  • Having weekly events to built a relationship between the community by rewarding them for specific tasks or contests
  • Collaborate with other projects and highlight them on the sub
  • Run our official AMA Series, we managed to create 2 major ones that gained a lot of traffic and interactions

  • Generated new updated workflow for reddit mods and what are their main priorities.

main tasks which were covered by me during Q2:

  • Interact with various posts that members liked and engaged with.
  • Daily Managed the Moderation Queue & Mod Email
  • Lead reddit mods & tracked their performance
  • Managed the SUPPORT THREAD WITH FAQ & provided support
  • Removed cross posting feature since it made the Subreddit way to spammy and full of non-valuable content (online internal projects are whitelisted to crosspost)
  • Took actions against people that did not follow recent rules changes.
  • Scheduled weekly calls with the reddit mods team & discussed on future goals and various KPI(s)/performance.
  • Creating contents like news, articles or discussion for members to interact with.
  • Managed AMAs.
  • Connected with users that represent other projects and established a relationship for future collaborations, such as https://youngplatform.com/ which is one of Italy’s top exchanges.
  • Evaluated team members.

What can we expect for Q3 from the Reddit Mods Team?

Due to uncertain times we decided to postpone a few events and ideas we wanted to implement for Q3, our main goals and priorities are

  • Rebrand the subreddit with the new font/colors as per the new branding (info: NEAR Brand)
  • Revamp the flairs, the various links and create the Reddit WIKI (which will include the most common questions and guides/explanations, such as what’s NEAR, how to create a wallet etc…)
  • Give more importance to users by highlighting them with specific flairs and various rewards such as:
  • Most Upvoted Post of the month
  • 1st place engaging user, 2nd place engaging user
and create a tier based on those details.
  • Highlight important users on the reddit such as Validators and Developers since they represent the heart of Near.
  • Review previous contests and events and introduce new ones if those didn’t reach the expected results.
  • Reach 20K members
  • Collaborate in shared AMA with other chains.
