[POST MORTEM] The Good Day Finale Event

The Penmanship Guild’s Good Day Finale event took place on the Fourth of July in Avila Beach, Ca. Our key learnings for producing this event are as follows

Key Learnings

  • Hosting ticketed events in California requires specific permits that most venues aren’t zoned. To scale and monetize TPG would need to propose events sooner in order to avoid delays from voting times.

  • Education and onboarding still need better tools to help non-crypto natives understand how to participate (i.e. POAP)

  • Promotional from radio and organic social are great ways to get the community to participate we had over 500 attendees

  • Hiring outside production companies to assist with coordination may be more efficient albeit costly path forward

  • Guild/Dao based labels may need a longer runway to price success by metrics as aggregation and engagement takes longer for music.

  • Partnering with organizations that are zoned for ticketing like tours or radio stations may be a better path forward for NFT gated shows. Tours may need to be booked up to 3 months in advance

Timelines vs metrics?

In our proposal, we state that we’d like to produce an event and release a project every 6 months but DAO voting mechanics make it difficult to stay on track. This go around we focused on timeline and because of that our event felt a little rushed. We found there to be less opportunities to educate and onboard. Would Creatives DAO prefer that we focus on metrics over timeline should we end up in a position where we have to choose?
