Meta Pool decision to allocate 100% staking reward fee to the community

Hello all,

I’d like to write this post to draw the communities attention on the recent decision taken by the Meta Pool team to allocate 100% of the staking reward fee back to the community.

This will be split 50/50 between token holders, thru APY gained from participating in voting on the platform, and community initiatives.

This is a considerable amount, around 3,000 Near per month, that will flow directly in to the community.

This gives the holders of the tokens, who can vote on proposals, power to direct constant monthly funds toward projects put forward by the community.

This provides opportunities for communities such as ReFi, to put forward a proposal to Meta Pool and receive funding, in the coming months.

Lets start to think how we can utilise this for the community.

I’d like to suggest that some rewards be sent to the $marmaj <> $stNEAR pool on ref.finance: Ref Finance

The pool is one of the oldest in the ecosystem, it’s the second largest $stNEAR pool, and the $marmaj token is a fund distribution token for the NEAR ecosystem; generally used to support community projects, micro grant funding for social good projects, and bounties for devs from underrepresented demographics.

Personally, I abstain from farming any reasonable amount of rewards from the farm (I might have ~100$ in for testing). The rewards would be to educate and support the community while also hoping to get users more involved with the Meta Pool ecosystem (through educational content surrounding $META use cases)
