Gruta now presents itself!

Gruta is an Almada, Portugal project created in 2016 with the idea to create a Web platform for more emergent Music Artists. Now with more than 90 Podcasts recorded in video and shared through Youtube and social media, with around 60 000 views and +500 Subscribers, it has created a big community both online and offline, while attracting totally different crowds and scenes. Creating and co-organizing with different collectives dozens of events throughout the years, has also collaborated with Lisbon and Almada City Halls and sponsorships to produce Cultural events.
Last year it expanded their work to exist as a Record Label also. Now with 18 releases available online, they range from EP’s, Albums and Singles. It has grown with the contacts from artists, musicians and venue organisations.
Production was always one big aspect of the project, with renting logistics audio, video, services, technicians, consulting, communication, digital marketing and executive production.
It’s currently in the process of being registered as a Portuguese Non-Profit Cooperative, recognized by the Portuguese law, that will aggregate all these aspects into one solid project.
Technology has always been a big background backup for the founders of Gruta and collaborators, using it to express its own creative endeavour. With this in mind the idea of evolving Gruta with the ever evolving technology, that compromises its natural habit, the Web.
Gruta DAO
Somewhere along the way, by chance and knowledge, the possibility to explore Web 3.0 came to be.
Gruta is now proud to announce that it has not only deployed its own DAO in Astro but also that our project has been selected for the DAOcubator Program and awarded seed funding, which will be key for our immersion into the Web 3.0 throughout 2022. Following our inherent spirit of open and direct dialogue, we would like to share in this forum something more. A great goal of ours that’s regularly in a loop in our minds.
The wish to think, conceptualise, plan and create structures for circular economic dynamics and practises that could seamlessly benefit artists, colectives, social cultural activities and projects related to eachother. Usually these subjects have low support from the regular structures of power. So why not create our own?

Council & DAO Structure
The Council will be established by 5 Members for now, but will grow progressively as people are onboarded, for better decentralisation of the project structure.

Relationship between CreativesDAO and Gruta DAO
We want to start developing more creative projects in March with our community and create a relationship them, the CreativesDAO community and DAOs related to it (Multi DAO collaborations :DD)
The budget we received from the DAOcubator Program will be mainly applied to structural and more experimental way’s we as Gruta can engage in Web 3.0 has a Community and Legal Wrappers for DAOs in the creative industry.
In parallel with this endeavour, the highest priority in which we’ll be investing our minds, time, talent and experience in is the creative arts. And this is where CreativesDAO comes in. We’ll be sure to make more posts here at the governance forum about our ideas, projects and collaboration opportunities.
Roadmap
This roadmap will be divided in 2 parts, the structural and project related objectives and web 3.0 objectives. The timeframe will be the full year of 2022.
Structural and Project related objectives:
- Achieve a Legal Status in Portugal as a Non-profit Cooperative.
- Planning and calendarization for 2022 Music Podcasts.
- Plan and organise 2022 Music Releases of the Label.
- Prepare the Label to serve as Agency for Musicians.
- Website Reconstruction and Back Office Management Deployment
- Inventorization, Contacts database created and Human Resources Listed
- Visual & Design Reorganisation
- Marketing Strategy planning for the different departments of Gruta
- Build the roadmap for the rest of the year 2022 with different venues and concepts

- Governance deployed in AstroDAO for the project.
- Manual Ideation for achieving Legal Status of DAOs in Portugal has a Cooperative.

In depth Projects with Web 3.0
Cooperatives & DAO’s:
The first big project Gruta with Web 3.0 will pursue is how a legal Cooperative in Portugal could be mirrored and fully function as a DAO on chain more specifically in AstroDAO.
Legally in its structure and deployment as community oriented cooperation between individuals in multiple projects and groups of work. While still maintaining the possibility for external funding, partnerships and general growth.

Tokenization & Tokenomics to create $GRUTA :
Deploying ways of rewarding people that collaborate in paid or voluntary roles in any activity done with Gruta, this way compelling more community focused projects to persist and people feel they are rewarded. We will be able to achieve better decentralisation and give collaborators the possibility to grow inside a community, with real work and impact in the community.
Gruta Token would be used in governance and community type decisions, like which artists the community would like to see recorded next, investments, type of events, lineups schedules and event material acquisition to better benefit the community needs.
Also it would help a lot with the representation each community member put on the project, with either funding, material, services available or voluntary tasks done.
NFT’s and Creators Economy:
Gruta would like to try and create ways to address the Use Cases for NFT’s beside just their uniqueness and ownership authenticity. Releasing the different media types as NFT’s is a “easy” thing, which will be explored and done, but trying to engage the community and finding ways that we could innovate with this type of technology is a big must.
We will be testing a few ideas on our debut compilation this February. More to be explained.
Onboarding Projects and People to Web 3.0 with Skill Learning
Another great onboarding possibility to add people to the Web 3.0 ecosystem is through community based projects.
Gruta has always been a precursor for helping other projects/people realise possibilities and help them reach their full potential. In that sense, we also plan to encourage a few artists/collaborators in more technologicals skills learning opportunities, such as workshops.
For example as UI / UX developers, Virtual Reality environment creation, Coding/Developing, Project/Production Managing, Communication/Marketing and Audio-Visual Technical Teaching.
This also while growing our services available as a Cooperative/DAO/Project.
Budget using DAOcubator Funding
We will be using our budget received from the DAOcubator mostly to achieve legal status and mirror it in web 3.0, also ideate and start developing our website for the web 3.0 applications described before. So for transparency measures we share here the budget planned:

Since NEAR price fluctuated quite considerably since we received the seed funding, our budget has a devaluation of around 1000$.
Also, as a sustainability measure, the team has agreed that from now on we will be applying a rule of using 5% of any funding received directly to a team member. This value will be applied in Vesting Periods and Stake the NEAR via Metapool for immediate liquidity if needed. So to grow as a community and not only individual gains.
We want to make a DAO Treasury specifically for the Gruta community.
These funds will be used in the future to fund more community projects via governance voting, invest in the $GRUTA token to give it value and acquisition of material fully available for the Cooperative/DAO. This always keeps in mind the necessary contingencies for some eventual regulatory hindrance that may arise if the legislation becomes harsher.
