Getting Started with Creatives DAO
Where previously a council of individuals voted on the proposals, we are now a DAO of DAOs, whereby each DAO, who has passed the requirements and has been voted in via AstroDAO, can vote on proposals. This has been an interesting process over the past four months as we step further away from centralisation and encourage more community engagement and exercising of voting power.

Who can apply for funding for the Creatives DAO?
Guilds or DAOs with a creative purpose can apply for creative projects.
The Creative DAO does NOT fund projects from individuals. If this is your case, please contact a Guild or DAO in the ecosystem that serves the purpose (music, gaming, digital arts etc.).
The Creatives DAO does NOT fund projects retrospectively. We recommend waiting for the approval of your monthly budget by the Creatives DAO before working on projects or paying out participants.

We as Creatives DAO moderators have been discussing how to best build trust within our community and incentivise organisation and clear communication. As a result of this, we have come up with an addition to the funding guidelines specific to new DAOs being formed. This tiering funding system applies to all DAOs, regardless of council members’ previous experience in the ecosystem:

First month requires a concise introduction to the DAO with a separate funding request that can equal up to the equivalent USD $2,000, to be paid out in $NEAR tokens or stable coin (see point #5 in this attached link). Once the funding proposal is approved by the Creatives Moderators, it is then voted on in Astro DAO by the Creatives DAO council via a poll. We would like to emphasise that this does not mean you need to immediately aim for this figure, but instead select some core ideas & projects that will help build a strong base for your DAO going forward.

On receipt of a well-documented report of the first month of funding and clear intent, for the second month the DAO can apply for up equivalent USD $3,000, to be paid out in $NEAR tokens or stable coin.

After 2 months of funding with reports, having established itself in the community, the DAO can be considered for the $5,000 tier of funding and for a place on the Creatives DAO council with voting rights.

In order to move a step closer towards the goal of decentralisation, the Creatives DAO asks for community members to limit the amount of council positions on DAOs on the Creatives DAO Council to 2 separate DAOS. Any member with several council positions above this number may slow up or put a halt on the proposal process of that DAO.
The council payout of each DAO can take up to 30% of the budget ( for ex. Budget 5000 USD - council payout 1500 USD)
Deadline
We ask all Guilds and DAOs in the Creatives sector to submit their reports from the previous month as well as the new budget by the 7th day of each month in order to have their payout request more efficiently processed. .
Overview of the process
Once a DAO has been initiated and proposes it’s first monthly budget, the procedure will go as follows:

After some discussion the creatives DAO moderators will revise and vote on whether or not the proposal follows the guidelines. If marked approved by a moderator, the next steps are then posted in the comments section below by that moderator. If not, further dialogue will occur.

Once approved by the creatives DAO moderators, the DAO will create a poll in Creatives DAO astrodao for the community to vote on. If the poll is passed through with sufficient votes, a google form will be sent to the DAO for one of the council to fill in. This is the start of the KYC process and it is now in the hands of NEAR foundation.

Funding & proposal structure
Please follow the guidelines when submitting your monthly report and proposal - keeping it clear, simple and detailed so that it can be reviewed easily. Please create a forum post for each project of your DAO and link it into the monthly budget (example 3). Use USD values for the proposals.

Process
The Creative DAO now has moderators instead of singular council members, which will help you with the forum administration and will confirm if your proposal fits within the guidelines of the new system.

Post your monthly budget and the moderators will check if it is according to the guidelines, if there is any information missing etc. We also encourage DAOs to check out the monthly proposals they are going to vote on through the later Astro DAO poll.

Tag @creative-mods in the forum once the proposal is posted (you can also post is to the Creatives DAO telegram group).

When the review is done and the status of the forum post is changed to [APPROVED] by one of the moderators, you can create a poll to approve the budget in the Creatives DAO on Astro, linking to the approved proposal within it. Once the poll is posted, add the link to the comments of your monthly budget post for everyone’s reference.

Once the poll has been voted on, please start the payout process by filling out this google form 5. You will then receive an email to start your KYC (Know your customer) process and once confirmed, a “reward agreement” to receive the tokens.
Please note that this last step is not in the Creatives DAO’s hands, therefore we are not able to give an insight on timelines or delays.
