Opening
As the event is open to everyone who’s interested in Web3 and Near regardless of knowledge and experience level, the following topics were touched in the welcoming session to let everyone start on the same page:
- The name Near was inspired by the book “The Singularity is Near”
- What is Near protocol?
- Near ecosystem and 700 projects milestone wuhoo!
- TVL ranking
- Full time developers on Near & the High growth
A big Thank You to Oliver @Oliver.Near , who recorded a video to help further introduce the Near ecosystem and the growth in Southeast Asia region. Everyone was absolutely enjoying this part!
As the ending of welcoming session, I’ve shared the plan of Near Singapore and the upcoming events in August and rest of the year. Following this, Antonio very generously helped to elaborate on Near wallet and guided everyone on how to create one.
Sharing session
We then divided participants into 3 groups of DeFi, Dev and Entrepreneur with guest speakers playing leading roles in the respective field to share their experiences and knowledge.
We’ve had Frederick from Access Singapore to talk about DeFi and Regulation; Lukas from Seed Web3 Academy to share fundamental RUST; EY from Aurigami and Joseph from Coinhall to talk about how to start a web3 project.
Each group shines in a different way. Many gave feedback that this was the best part of the event.
Rep Election
The Representatives Election was definitely the highlight of the event. Applications were made prior to the event and we’ve received an overwhelming amount. The candidates made it to the final round gave an introduction about themselves and the final voting was done LIVE during this session. Here’s our first batch of representatives:

First of all, we still have not receive the funding.
