OUR MISSION
We’re on a mission to bring millions of web2 gamers on a fun & low-friction journey to web3.
We are proud to be building on NEAR, the most collaborate group of creatives & developers we have ever worked with. It was a privilege meeting so many of you at NEARCON last month!
WHAT WE’RE BUILDING
Meta Lordz is an MMO metaverse with a medieval theme, full of new game experiences to provide depth, enjoyment and sustainability to web3 gaming.
The metaverse consists of a peaceful castle town set within a mysterious world plagued by evil forces. Players have a variety of roles to play – crafting & upgrading gear, collecting resources, brewing potions, participating in the creator economy, and trading – as well as having a range of exciting gaming experiences to explore.
Our innovative tokenomics model, which heavily incentivises users to engage with the community & play the game for maximum rewards, is detailed in our whitepaper – link below.
THE PVP ARENA
We’ll launch Phase 1 of our product – a PvP battle arena game, accessed either in a limited ‘free-to-play’ mode, or through a rented or bought NFT warrior. In the arena, players fight in a brawler style match.
Everyone earns XP, and top players can earn treasure chests and tokens. There’ll be clan battles, free-for-alls, team matches & tournaments. Special events even within specific geographical markets will celebrate festivals, holidays and more.
WARRIORS & PROGRESSION
We’re launching five classes of warrior in Q4: the Archer, Barbarian, Monk, Rogue and Wizard. Players will leverage their unique skills & play styles, as well as crafted or traded weapons, armour and potions, as they fight to the death in the arena.
As warriors level up, they’ll have the opportunity to deploy new stat points and learn new skills. This progression is a key factor behind long-term player engagement.
WHERE ARE WE TODAY
The PvP arena is fully built. We’ve had around a dozen community co-dev sessions to help balance warriors & tweak the game, and we are hugely proud of the product today.
Many of you have had a chance to play, either at NEARCON or in private testing sessions – and we’d be delighted to invite you to test the game too.
We’re a team of 22 right now. Our senior team includes people from Meta, Activision, Improbable, King, Blizzard, Uber, Bain, Goldman Sachs, as well as YouTube influencers (>1m followers), token economists, fintech veterans and entrepreneurs.
With one co-founder on the ground in India, we can operate a fully in-house game studio with world-class execution and quality – even on the budget of a pre-seed funded firm. Our team continues to grow, and we invite you to get in touch if you’re interested in working with us.
WHAT’S NEXT
The PvP arena will launch in Q4 as a PC/Mac Unity application. In 2023 we’ll greatly enhance the offering by deploying the metaverse and our PvE mode – an engaging series of missions full of exciting lore.
Next year we’ll also launch our iOS/Android mobile experience, for trading, social, metaverse and creator functionality – and more.
HOW WE’LL HELP THE NEAR ECOSYSTEM
One key focus for Meta Lordz is minimising user frictions. The wide experience of our team in some of the world’s best-loved product-led organisations, across fintech, gaming, social and other verticals, makes us uniquely well-placed to bring innovation and new solutions to the community. We’ll break down barriers, share our perspectives, and most importantly bring millions of new users to the NEAR community.
USE OF PROCEEDS
We intend to use the proceeds of any grant funding as follows:
- 40%: To grow our dev & creative teams, and accelerate development of the metaverse, mobile experience and creator tools
- 20%: To finalise & audit our core smart contracts, and deploy them to mainnet. For NFTs this will be done by November, and by Q1 for tokens.
- 20%: To perfect the user onboarding & wallet management experience, potentially leveraging third party tools to reduce frictions to an absolute minimum
- 20%: To selectively deploy marketing spend in specific regions where product-market fit is reached and we have a solid knowledge of the local market
