Guild Details:
Problem:
The Mereb Guild aims to address the lack of awareness, knowledge, and adoption of blockchain technology, specifically the NEAR Protocol, in Ethiopia. The problem statement lies in the limited opportunities available for Ethiopian developers to explore and leverage the potential of blockchain technology to drive innovation and solve real-world challenges. By providing educational resources, organizing training events, fostering a supportive community, and forging partnerships, the Mereb Guild seeks to bridge this gap and empower Ethiopian developers to embrace blockchain technology, unlocking its transformative power for the benefit of Ethiopia’s tech ecosystem and contributing to the broader adoption of blockchain in Africa.
Mission:
At Mereb, our mission is to accelerate the knowledge, adoption, innovation, and application of the NEAR Protocol in Ethiopia. We strive to empower Ethiopian developers and promote the growth of blockchain technology in Ethiopia and Africa.
How We Achieve Our Mission:
Education:
We conduct NEAR development training events, providing opportunities for developers to learn about NEAR smart contract development frameworks and explore its capabilities.
Events:
The guild regularly organizes meetups, workshops, and events at schools, universities, and vocational training centers to educate participants on blockchain technology and the NEAR Protocol.
Community Building:
We aim to build a vibrant NEAR Developers community of blockchain enthusiasts, developers, users, and promoters. Through networking events and online platforms, we create a supportive environment for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Partnerships and Collaborations:
We collaborate with other companies and organizations pursuing similar interests to strengthen the blockchain ecosystem in Ethiopia. By fostering partnerships, we can collectively drive innovation and adoption.
Engaging Local Tech Communities:
We actively participate in local tech events, engaging with the wider tech community and initiating discussions on how the NEAR Protocol can be utilized to solve real-world problems in Ethiopia.
Hackathons and Fellowships:
We organize hackathons and fellowships to inspire creativity, foster innovation, and encourage developers to build projects on the NEAR blockchain. These initiatives provide hands-on experience and promote the development of groundbreaking solutions.
KPIs;
eveloper Engagement: This KPI focuses on measuring the level of engagement and participation of developers in Mereb Guild activities. It can be measured by the number of developers attending training events, participating in hackathons, and actively contributing to the NEAR Developers community. Additionally, tracking the number of developers building projects on the NEAR blockchain and the growth of the guild’s online developer community can provide insights into developer engagement.
Partnerships and Collaborations: This KPI evaluates the effectiveness of the guild in establishing partnerships and collaborations with other companies and organizations pursuing similar interests in Ethiopia. The number of partnerships formed, joint initiatives undertaken, and the impact of these collaborations on the growth and adoption of blockchain technology can serve as key metrics. It’s important to measure the quality and depth of partnerships in addition to the quantity.
Awareness and Reach: This KPI focuses on measuring the guild’s success in increasing awareness and expanding its reach within the Ethiopian tech community. Metrics to consider include the growth of the guild’s social media following, website traffic, and engagement on online platforms. Tracking media coverage, mentions in industry publications, and participation in conferences and events can also indicate the level of visibility and influence the guild has achieved in promoting the NEAR Protocol and blockchain technology in Ethiopia.
These KPIs provide a holistic view of the guild’s impact, encompassing developer engagement, collaborative efforts, and the reach of awareness-building initiatives. Regularly tracking and analyzing these metrics can help assess the effectiveness of strategies, identify areas for improvement, and demonstrate the progress made towards achieving the guild’s mission and objectives.
