While hosting The Curators Ball on Clubhouse, a weekly showcase of NFT artists, an interesting conversation started between two collagist when I asked about where they sourced their raw images. I also do collage so I knew the answer is any damn where I can find some. But as we talked we realized that there is an opportunity here to facilitate, contribute and ultimately serve the NFT art community.
I suggested proposing this to the NEAR community to build. The user story is fairl simple. The idea isn’t new, but creating a collage depository of NFT artists takes it too new levels. It creates a conversation around collaborative value. NFT artists using other NFT artists work. Sampling, would be a good metaphor.
We would love to partner with a NEAR Dapp programmer to create this repository so that those who own a nft can upload and contribute and download files. This is also an opportunity to attract and familiarize more artists on other platforms with NEAR.
Features in brief:
- Connect via wallet (Web 3 site of course)
- Must own $NEAR or Collage NFTs to access and download
- available showcase of artists on home page
- simple search (latest, popular, search tag system <<< really important)
- Ability to upload via minting to NEAR just by connecting. If you upload you are also given downloading permissions based on a tier system.
- Share to social etc.
Consultation in addition to partnership is needed? Right now we are a team of 3 creatives and 1 curator/creative and have just begun discussing development.
Would appreciate any feedback in comments and looking forward to building what will be a useful and popular tool on the NEAR network.
Also wondering if our group can collect NEAR bounty for this effort?
