MCoin: mobile phone-based cyptocurrency transfer service, payments and micro-financing service via Mpesa

Cryptocurrency payment, mobile payment, and money transfer are gaining popularity in Kenya and African as a Whole for many reasons. Not only is it is seen as safer than carrying and using physical money in general, but it allows unbanked access to a full range of secure financial services. It is estimated that around twice as many Kenyans use Bitcoin, Etherium, and M-PESA for financial transactions as have bank accounts. Besides, many Kenyans do not fully trust the traditional banking system which is susceptible to political instability. Much of the transfer activity involves cryptocurrency, money being transferred from workers in urban to family in rural areas, and small businesses. Smaller towns and villages may not have a bank but will have a local M-PESA agent, making the cypto transfer and mobile banking convenient and accessible, with only a small fee being paid for each transaction.

Hi @DickensJuma from what I understand this sounds like an onboarding opportunity, can you submit your idea to SputnikDAO for 10N?

Then it would be interesting to hear more about what pieces are missing and what you plan to build. You’ve painted a broad picture, what specific things can we take action on?
