- MetaBUIDL Hackathon opened to a huge success as we see a 15% increase in Monthly Active Developer, and 170% increase in weekly active accounts.
- Skyward and Ref.finance led DeFi projects are taking off from looking at their daily transactions.
- Bridge usage continued to increase, welcoming more developers and projects from Ethereum to NEAR, getting closer to the multi-chain interactive vision.

Monthly active developer increased to the level of 700 towards the end of last week along with the kick off of MetaBUIDL hackathon, showing strong direct correlations, proving hackathon being an effective way of increase the engagement of developers.
Daily Number of New Accounts
Daily number of new accounts skyrocketed to almost 25k on August 28th, along with the kick off of the hackathon. The increase was also because of the temporary re-open of coinop account creation method.
From referral source breakdown of account creation page on wallet, we can see that Google is the number one here mostly because of people hearing about NEAR from the hackathon and search to create their wallet.
Daily Number of Transactions
Daily transaction amount remained stable at the level of 250k to 300k last week with the beginning and the end of the week the highest.
From the breakdown, we can see that activities last week was mainly nearcrowd, near, skyward, ref and bridge. This shows signs of nearcrowd continue to lead activities on chain, near account was activity because of the hackathon, DeFi ecosystem on NEAR is rising with the lead of skyward and ref, and bridge usage increased, showing we are welcoming more developers and projects from Ethereum, getting closer to the multi-chain interactive vision.

Daily New Developers
We can see the number of new developers reached 50 on August 28th, showing that the hackathon has attracted a fair amount of new developers into our ecosystem.

Weekly active developer and active dev-deploy/deploy skyrocketed along with the start of the hackathon, reflecting the active hacking.
Near.org Top of Funnel Traffic Snapshot
near.org traffic continued to have increase four weeks in a row and this time increased by 9% from last week’s high number.
From country breakdown we can see that traffic from Vietnam and India has the largest percentage increase from their already high rank in country distribution. US also increased by 10%, which is also significant from its large base.
From referrer source breakdown we can see that same as last week, majority of users landed on near.org from Google, which was another 18% increase compared to previous week. This shows that people continue to learn the NEAR name in places. We will try to get data around Search Engine Keywords to get more insights.
