      Near Community Launched in Uganda.
    

a) Our guild successfully launched its operations in Uganda. We kicked off with a Social media campaign and advertising. This helped us to hold a successful convention at Makerere University.
b) Our convention was attended by 120 members, majorly from the University community. These included students, lecturers and researchers.
c) We gave out 10N in rewards at the event. This was based on the engagement level.
d) About 6 members opened Near wallets.
e) We also received members from other blockchain communities in Uganda.
f) Our convention was further graced by the United Blockchain Association of Uganda (UABA) who were represented by their Uganda Country representative. BCU Guild Convention - Google Drive

      Guild collaborations

a) [Sakore Guild, Kenya]: Its leader @Mazi organised a call with the motive of strengthening NEAR-based communities in East Africa. We agreed collaborate in cross-guild NEAR-based events in the region, both in Kenya and Uganda.
b) We are making more establishments to strengthen the Near continental guild community.

     Social Media engagements

a) We have greatly engaged our community through social media, especially twitter with 450 followes and average of 1,220 ipressions, 220 engagements engaments.https://twitter.com/BlockchainClubU
b) We also have a good number in our telegram channel (203) Telegram: Contact @BlockchainClubUg
c) We hope to grow our social media interactions by 40% in October.

         Mainstream Media connection

a) We were able to make a strategic collaboration with some science journalists from the Uganda Radio Network, Daily Monitor and The Observer(Uganda). The Campus Bee, a University News Channel covered and published our event. Blockchain Club of Uganda to Set Up Blockchain Developers Hub in Kampala - Campus Bee
b) Capital radio also broadcast a story about our guild and our operations, especially across universities in Uganda.

  UABA Partnership

a) We were able to hold a formal discussion with United Blockchain Association Of Africa(UABA) about a possible collaboration with Near in fostering the Blockchain knowledge and technology in Uganda.
b) According to our discussion with their Uganda country representative, UABA is ready to partner with Near to advocate for a strong blockchain ecosystem in Uganda while observing the Near.org vision and mission.

   October Milestone

a) In reference to our initial proposal, we intend to hold another event(workshop) to establish the Blockchain Club of Uganda Guild. This workshop will be held at the Ministry of ICT hub.
b) We intend to target the government technocrats including the ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Uganda Revenue Authority, especially their IT departments interesting them to build on Near.
c) We further plan to strengthen our social medial activities and keep our community engaged.
d) We shall be rewarding the most active members on our twitter and telegram channels to ensure an active and highly engaged community.

Am really loving the spirit East Africa is moving with that adoption of blockchain technology and Higher significant compared to Western Africa we hope for more like this in both regions and a future collaboration between Nearprotocol Nigeria and Blockchain club of Uganda in fostering blockchain adoption and provision of usable solutions via NEAR blockchain to the strong people of Africa
