Proposal for NTU Brand Strengthening and Community Engagement Funding

Background:

  • Formation and Growth: NTU was established in early 2022 with support from the Near Foundation. Since then, NTU has been a significant contributor to the NEAR ecosystem through the Tinker Union NFT collection and the development of Meteor Wallet.
  • NTU is the top trading NFT collection by volume on NEAR currently

Project Goals:

  1. Brand Enhancement:
  • Elevate NTU’s visibility within the NEAR community and beyond.
  1. Community Engagement:
  • Increase involvement and participation among NTU and Meteor Wallet users.
  1. Cross-Chain Outreach:
  • Introduce NFT holders from other chains to the NEAR ecosystem.

Strategy and Implementation:

  1. Content Creation Partnerships:
  • Engage with creators for a variety of content, including educational videos, memes, and informative threads about NTU and Meteor Wallet.
  1. Rewarding Community Initiatives:
  • Implement reward programs and events to encourage active community participation.

Budget Breakdown: $2000 (Feb 2024)

  • NTU Content Creation (Educational Videos, Memes, etc.): $1000
  • Community Rewards and Engagement Activities: $1000

KPIs:

  1. Cross-Chain User Onboarding:
  • Onboard at least 500 new users from other NFT collections on different chains through a campaign offering free $GEAR drops.
  1. Content Engagement:
  • Achieve at least 30K impressions from our video content partner on Twitter, focusing on content that highlights NTU’s value, $GEAR, staking benefits, and why NTU NFT is an ideal starting point for community involvement.

Regarding your proposal, could you please suggest what you would do differently with funding support? You are already running campaigns, so I am curious to know how you plan to leverage the additional funding.

Additionally, could you provide some content about Near beyond NTU and $Gear? I would love to see onboarded people interacting with other communities and tools of the ecosystem.

Currently, our NTU efforts and campaigns operate on a shoestring budget - most of the team resources are primarily allocated to the Meteor Wallet development. This constraint limits our capacity to execute comprehensive brand and community initiatives for NTU. With additional funding support, we aim to significantly enhance these efforts, particularly in content creation and cross-chain outreach.

Here’s how the funding will make a difference:

  1. Strategic Content Partnerships: The additional funds will enable us to forge more impactful partnerships for creating diverse, engaging content. This includes not just promotional material but also educational content that underscores NTU’s unique value in the NEAR ecosystem.
  2. Targeted Cross-Chain Campaigns: Presently, our outreach is confined within NEAR. The proposed budget will facilitate targeted campaigns to attract users from other chains, a novel approach for us. This will not only boost NTU’s visibility but also enrich the NEAR ecosystem with fresh perspectives and participants.
  3. Dedicated Community Initiatives: We plan to launch “side quests”, a series of activities designed to engage users with other NEAR projects and communities. This will foster a more interconnected ecosystem, with NTU serving as a gateway for new users.

In summary, the additional funding will empower us to execute focused initiatives, enhancing NTU’s presence and fostering a vibrant community within the NEAR ecosystem. Our unique positioning through NTU, coupled with our flagship product, the Meteor Wallet, offers a strategic avenue to onboard and immerse new users in the NEAR landscape.

Tinker Union February Grant Report

Apologies for the delayed report regarding the grant we received from NFT DAO in February. The team has been stretched thin and hasn’t had much bandwidth to provide all the details.


Allocation of Funds

With the funds we received, we have allocated them as follows:

  1. Harvest $MOON NFT Minting
  • Purpose: Onboarding tool to the ecosystem before the launch of the Harvest $MOON Game.
  • Total NFTs Minted: 100,000+
  1. Cost Breakdown:
  • Transaction Fees: 86N
  • NFTs Burnt: 59N
  • NFTs Locked in Storage: 775N
  1. Stickers Creator
  • Purpose: Production of 2 sticker packs, each containing 10 stickers.
  1. Cost Breakdown:
  • $300 for 20 stickers
  1. Key Opinion Leaders (KOL)
  • Purpose: Roll out tutorials and alpha content.
  • $250 each for 4 videos.

Result

Essentially, the funds we received have been used to subsidize our total costs to kick off the Harvest $MOON gamification.
