  • Build on a Carbon-backed NFT Marketplace that will also onboard non web3 organizations, startups and regular users to our community in not only Tanzania but whole of Africa

  • NFTs as Carbon Credits: Each NFT would represent the amount of waste that has been recycled, processed and verified by a trusted third-party, in this case Regen Network. The carbon offset value of the recycling effort/ carbon reduced (as calculated by a recognized methodology) would be the underlying value of the NFT.

  • Third party verification to verify regenerative work being done according to predetermined methodologies in the registry.

Hello!
thanks for submitting your proposal. It’s great to see a NEAR community striving from Tanzania.

I have a few concerns and questions.

  1. There is no detailed explanation as to why funds are required for the project. Is it to compensate the Devs, other team members and Marketing of the product? If YES, please indicate here.
  2. Given that the Tanzanian community is a new one, could it be best to start with the Campus tour?

Thrilled to see a community springing from Tanzania.

Here are my concerns:

  1. $5000 dollars for revamping an nft marketplace and collaboration with media outlets? Where was the marketplace launched before? I mean ecosystem.
  2. What are your plans for education and onboard?
  3. Looking at everything going onchain on NEAR what are your plans or strategies to promote onchain activities?

Thanks

@adeiza @IgbozeIsrael Thanks for the responses. As for the community Yes, we are planning on the irl event first (one at The University.) We are aiming to start with the irl event then go along with the dApp for onboarding.
2. In regards to the funds for the Carbon-backed NFT Marketplace, We launched on NEAR mainnet, and yes all of it is going towards development:

  • Revamping of the frontend and smart contracts
  • Integrating wallet selector
  • Revamping updated form with fillers for variety of methodologies
  • Integrating gamification/ Leadership board with Impact2earn model. (Which will also drive onchain activities)

Hope these answer your concerns. More than happy to clarify anything else

Can you help to clarify which of the funding is for the community please?

I will suggest we restructure the proposal to focus on the IRL campus event to start the community. With the numbers on your socials, it is the best fit for this community.

Thank you for your community intro, and looking forward to seeing a Near engagement in Tanzania and am very optimistic about the growth there.

I see you are a project manager at Chatafisha and have already received MDAO funding. What I would recommend is that you focus on some community engagement, educate your new users on basic things, continue your MDAO activities, and resubmit the next round when your community is active and visible Now is more of community intro which we support, and we look forward to see your commitment report

Unfortunately; can’t support this round.

We are not only planning on onboarding students but also non-web3 organizations such as Green NGOs like HUDEFO, Open Map Tanzania and many more. However, here is our restructured proposal as advised.
