ORGANIZATION NAME: She is Near Dao.
PROJECT NAME: #EmpowerHer
MONTH: February.
NATURE: Progress report

        GENERAL OVERVIEW:

In February, as part of our commitment to #EmpowerHer, we established strategic educational partnerships and organised a physical event at Eth Denver dedicated to educating and onboarding women from both Web3 and Web2 technologies across various countries and continents.
Our focus was on creating an inclusive learning environment that facilitated the goal for a seamless transition of Web2 developers, builders, creators, and founders into our community while empowering existing members through collaborative educational initiatives.
Additionally, we grew our social media presence, significantly expanded our community, and engaged with industry experts to drive growth and expansion. Notably, our DAO was mentioned by Forbes Magazine during their coverage of the World Economic Forum 2024 event.

SECTION 4 - IMPACT AND OUTCOMES:
**Achievements: **

  • Reach to new audience: The project provided an avenue for us to network and attract women from different countries, communities and protocols thereby paving the way for future collaboration As well as onboarding new DAO members and partners.

  • CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS: One of the major challenges we encountered and are actively trying to solve is the issue of contract signing as the DAO isn’t a legal entity. Following Ida’s suggestion, we have prepared a letter of intent and are currently waiting for our project partner(SheFi) to sign before funds would be transferred. The partnership fund is still in DAO treasury as a result of this challenge.

  • SOLUTION: We are in contact with lawyers to help us create a legal wrapper for the DAO to have a more professional legal process with partners . We are looking at a legal wrapper in Switzerland.

Details on EthDenver Meetup/Panel and learnings:point_down:
Event Details:
The event was at the top of a food hall and bar, Zeppelin Station, in their private venue space upstairs that was arranged with tables, music, whimsical floral decor, and a bar. The panel was presented to the guests. After the panel, there was a Demo of Jutsu presented by Zahiduk. The bar closed at 9.00 PM, and people gathered outside to speak after the event.

PANEL MEMBERS:

  • Maggie Love, SheFi

  • Monica Tsang, Principal at Augmented Atelier

  • Souheila Sidennas, Tech team, She is Near DAO

  • Kayleigh Svensson, Operations at Jutsu

  • Panel Moderator: Sarah Kornfeld

OVERVIEW:
The panel was programmed to last half an hour, during which four women would discuss their projects, the trends they see on the horizon, and ideas about how women can thrive on the blockchain. Our first four panelists gave essential insights into how to build your strategies into being a developer, how to work collaboratively with men and women, and the trends to watch in the space related to developers, women-led projects, and cross-platform collaboration.

What happened next was a happy accident. Four more women from the audience joined us to discuss their experiences working on Solana in Egypt, Dubai, and France. Eight women spoke, all told, and then we had an extra half hour of Q&A with men in the audience who wanted to learn more about the best ways to engage, hire, and support women team members.

This was an excellent (first) panel event for She is Near because it set a good structure for ongoing events. The entire panel lasted an hour and was highly interactive. It helped us align with women we had not met, onboard them into the She is Near DAO, make them aware of the Jutsu course, and introduce us to men in the ecosystem who want to be allies.

  • Key insights from the panel include

:slightly_smiling_face:
Women and men don’t get many changes on-chain to learn how to collaborate well together, and the panel helped open a dialog
The women leaders on the panel all agreed that women working globally, on small and large projects, only amplify women’s abilities to lead well – we just need to ensure that we are funded and supported by allies who see our value.
We also heard from women-building companies (SheFi) now in 9o countries, women-building programs in the Middle East that are taking risks to grow, and the Near team from Canada in attendance who voiced their commitment to hiring more women actively.

Thanks for the report.

Your Twitter growth is not in line with other metrics. Is there any particular reason you’ve struggled to only get 9 of these 3532 new followers to follow She is NEAR on Near Social?

You’ve also had more followers in a month than likes to your tweets which is rather awkward

Could this be because they paid more attention ti other tasks than asking people to follow them on near.social?

@Blessedchidi maybe you guys can contact Shaddog for onboarding links that redirect people to your near social page?

Thanks.
