NEARCON22 provided the perfect opportunity to present Decentralized Brewing Co to the NEAR community. Although we were involved in NEARCON last year [Report] NEAR BEER at NEARCON , this was our first IRL event.
As outlined in our proposal [Approved] NEARCON participation: Decentralized Brewing Co + Marketing DAO Council, we drove our Beer Truck mobile bar on a round trip of over 2600 km to be in Lisbon for the event. The converted fire truck provided a unique platform to promote the brewery, beers… and also our new partners!
Pre Event
In the weeks leading up to NEARCON the brewery organised an AIRDROP event to raise awareness of our $BEER tokens.

We then used nearsender.io to bulk drop $BEER tokens to the wallets - NEAR Blockchain Explorer
We got in contact with the dev team at Coin Pipe https://coinpipe.finance/ (they changed name just before the event!)
This amazing team have created a Point of Sale (POS) payment platform that allows merchants to sell their products for NEAR. Neadless to say, we were super excited to roadtest their product for the first time at NEARCON - selling Beer for NEAR!
And of course we had our range of brewery branded merchandise…
NEARCON
During this years three day event it was busy, busy, busy with hardly a moment to drink a mouthful of beer. It was great to meet so many of the NEAR foundation, community and founders of projects building on the wonderful NEAR blockchain, face to face.
Our main objective during the event was to explain our brewery roadmap and demonstrate a real world usecase for NEAR.
Many of the visitors were using their NEAR wallets to buy a physical product - a can or glass of beer - for the first time. It was fun to demonstrate how easy it was to pay with NEAR. On the first day of the event we were approached by the team behind USN stable token and it was agreed that the following day we would be offering beer for sale in USN and NEAR. Many visitors liked that they could choose which token to use when making a payment.
Mounted alongside the bar we had a digital display screen that linked to the CoinPipe POS dashboard - showing each transaction in real time gave visitors maximum transparency when making a payment.
The UI was further improved on the second day when Jack from flipsidecrypto created a new dashboard for us - Flipside Crypto Thanks Jack!

Improvements to the payment platform were hacked from scratch during the event. Note - for this event the brewery transfered NEAR onto a Crypto.com card and sold for EUR. So all expenses were paid in NEAR. Very satisfying to see that this is possible!
The Beer Truck attacted the attention of many of the visitors and we hope to take the vehicle to future events in 2023. If you are planning an event let us know.
