B<>rder/ess, in partnership with SheIsNear, is taking a great role in empowering women in the blockchain space. Through a series of activities, a dynamic learning and networking environment for women who are interested in building on the Near Blockchain platform is being created.
This report provides a comprehensive overview of the ongoing activities; online and offline as well as achievements recorded.

In-Progress Activities: Pre-Cipher Session Activities
Curriculum Creation and Tutor selection - 15th April - 27th April 2024
We started by interviewing a range of Female Developers in the B<>rder/ess Developer community and Partners ecosystems, who were familiar with building on Near Blockchain. We selected the appropriate Tutor and started work on the Curriculum and completed it.
Cipher Session Schedule and Orientation Preparations April 28th - 4th May

Cipher Session Announcement and Publicity (Ongoing) - May 6th - 31st
We announced on the 6th of May
And now we have 92 Women who have signed up to join the Program
Content Contest 15th -22nd May
We’ve started a Content Contest to further publicize the Cipher Session and the Virtual She-Builds on Near Conference for ladies.
The content contest is currently ongoing, offering a $200 reward in Near tokens. This contest is a strategic move aimed to raise awareness about the upcoming She Builds on Near conference and the Cipher Session.
The Contest participants will;

Create content around She builds on Near Conference, and the Cipher Sessions highlighting the benefits and methods to apply.

Increase visibility for the events and attract a wider audience.

Increase the following of SheIsNear on X as one of the requirements for submission involves following the She is Near X account.

Build on Near Cipher Session
Cipher Session Details: Two Months Cipher Session on Build on Near for Women between 3rd June - 3rd August.
This is a 2-month Cipher Session which will be held from June 3rd to August 3rd to enrich women with the skills to build on Near and successfully write smart contracts.
These sessions will offer a valuable learning opportunity for those interested, with an elaborate curriculum and expert tutors, the students are expected to become pros and start building on near in no time.

Publicity Activities for the Cipher Session
*We’ve also had Female Influencers do educational videos for the Cipher Session and Publicize them on different social media platforms, here’s one of them from Tiktok.

Videos promoting the Build on Near Cipher Sessions have been created and are currently live and more videos are being created.

Posts regarding all the mentioned activities are pushed out on all platforms including the Near Telegram Channels.

All of our tech campuses are currently creating a buzz about the Cipher sessions in their various campuses

Merch for Build on Near has been purchased and is being used as promotional materials.
She Builds on Near Conference (May 23rd-25th)
A 3-day Online Ladies Blockchain conference with the theme; She Builds on Near is scheduled to hold May 23rd to 25th.
The conference will feature speakers, and networking opportunities for women in blockchain as well as enthusiasts. It is to hold on X the first day and Zoom on the second and third day by 7pm.

A 3-day Online Ladies’ Blockchain Conference.
Date:23rd-25th May 2024.

Platform: Twitter (borderless dev hub)
Target Audience: ladies in universities and all ladies interested in tech.

- Achievements: We exceeded the goal of 100 registrations and are now approaching 200 for the Cipher sessions.
Increased awareness and feedback from ladies in the different universities regarding both he conference and the Cipher Session.
Identified 5 thriving female-led businesses ready to come on chain.

- Social Media and Distribution Channels: She Builds on Near twitter has garnered 50+ extra follows as a result of the Contest and registrations. Cumulatively, posts in relation to SheIsNear on B<>rder/ess Twitterhas received 6,000+ Impressions

Anticipated Challenges:
We might need to create a separate Telegram Group for the Cipher Session to function as a Classroom for learning, separate from the SheIsNear community so that new entrants can easily navigate.
Conclusion:
The partnership between B<>rder/ess and She is Near is off to a successful start. The ongoing activities are generating significant awareness and engagement, and the cipher session is definitely going to empower women in the blockchain space.
