Greetings Creatives,

May has been a month of learning-as-we-go and fortuitous expansion. We are honored to have added Mx T as new member to our DAO (mxtsetmefree.near). You can learn more about Mx T and some of her amazing work here: About | Ancestral Alchemy Academy. As always, we are incredibly thankful for our supporters in the NEAR ecosystem.

  • We have conducted NEAR outreach to community organizations and have several conversations scheduled with people who have participated in our infosessions/ and or have been referred to us
  • sponsored two new DAOs: thespians.sputnik-dao.near and sh8peshift-society.sputnik-dao.near
  • provided proposal support for the following DAOs: Ancestral Alchemy Academy, Reggae is Bigga Than Music DAO, Thespians DAO, as well as two more amazing landbased collectives that are still in the process of formally establishing their DAOs
  • We supported several DAOs with the astro dao upgrade, but unfortunately, some were not able to complete the process on time, but it was still a valuable learning experience

Highlights

We are very excited to have recruited our former Montessori colleague, Mx. T, as our newest member and are grateful to have additional administrative, project and creative support. It has been exciting to witness the growth of the individuals and DAOs that we support, as they progress in learning NEAR and explore ways to engage with the ecosystem. We have been having inspiring and productive offline conversations about developing self-sustainability. The NEAR experience continues to foster authentic collaborations IRL as well as in web3. We relish in reconnecting and reinforcing decades long connections and also collaborations with people that we have met on NEAR across the continents. It’s so beautiful and we are so thankful!

Learnings

While there is so much that we wish to accomplish, we are learning to be more mindful and realistic about setting our goals and milestones. This month, we have gladly dedicated more time than we initially anticipated to support recently onboarded people as they navigate and learn NEAR. In order for us to reach our goals in a timely fashion, we look forward to sharing tasks with our team and collaborating with members of the NEAR community who can support us with tech and marketing. As we develop tools to support people with learning and growing on NEAR, we have been extremely thankful for the tutorials developed by the Marma J Foundation team and are incorporating them into our training curriculum.

Since we aim to work with NEAR for the long term and do not want to tax ourselves, we recognize the importance of intentionally scheduling time for self care, family, friends and nature.

Our funds have been allocated according to our budget.

Next Steps:

  • Continue to build out community liaison training program, resource library, how-to documents and infosessions with an emphasis on self-sustainability
  • Offer selected DAOs to submit proposals to 9INES DAO to fund projects $500 max budget
  • Research strategies to move towards self-sustainability
  • Research opportunities to earn on NEAR
  • Establish 9INES social media presence
