On 14th may 2022 we were invited to a pitch competition tour that was hosted by sankore .We arrived at the venue early and the venue was well set and ready for the event .The venue was at IHIT(house of invention and technology in kilimani ,nairobi).Alot of people turned up including developers with various projects with them.The developers were handed the task of making the long awaited presentation that they felt needed to be incubated. Each person was given enough time to make their presentation and convince the judges why the were the best to be given the incubation. Out of all the developers that presented only 3 were to be given incubation by sankore.Everybody explained their projects nicely but it was upto the judges to choose 3 best to go to the next level and get incubation.
The first pitcher that was selected had GEMA which was a loyalty points project for various applications
The project was well explained and seemed interesting and would be a big addition to the current technology.
The second to be selected had landcoin.This project uses the idea of block chain to curb corruption. It would be something good to help minimise and end the growing land grabbing especially in our country. Such a project could prove helpful to countries that face high rates of land grabbing and corruption.If well incubated and improved it can prove vital in ending corruption cases in many countries.
The third project that was incubated was the vibranium id that help people to be identified anywhere in the continent using only their id .This also uses block chain technology to accomplish that.It would really help business people to carry out their business securely around the continent.
We got to see how block chain technology is very important and the role it plays in our current technology and world.People who did not submit their projects were urged to through the sankore email and might as well end up getting incubation.
