To this event, is it necessary for the entire Council to attend in person?

Absolutely not. All councils won’t be attending. At Most 2 that are actively involved in the project. Any other council who want to attend can self sponsor their attendance mostly because it’s not a DAO project so it’s best to fund the team planning it to attend than fund all councils to attend.
The 5 people will comprise of Wal and the founder of brunch and babes, two council (at most) and community members working on the event and reside in the region where the event is happening. We want to create space for community members with potentials to attend rather than sponsor all councils. @chloe

From the proposal in question:

Travel expenses for 5 Core DAO Members:

Flights + Visas: $6,000
Accommodation for 4 nights: $2,000
Sub-Total: $8,000

So it seems like out of the 20k for this initiative, 8k is to be used on flights and accomodation?

Hey Chloe!

Absolutely! That’s correct. A significant portion of the budget is allocated to cover travel expenses for our core DAO members (Council + Active members).

It is essential to have our team on-site to ensure the smooth execution of the event. Having the right people in place is crucial for pulling off a successful and impactful event by creating the right energy that represents our DAO and NEAR because we not only want to execute the event but also onboard and actually fund women project, therefore it is crucial to have a dedicated team engaging with all attendees, including mentors, sponsors and other investors.

Also, people will be flying from within and out of the EU, we need to ensure everyone is covered.
