Project: Kin DAO Virtual Galleries on Mintabase
The main objective of this project is to complete the minting process and curation of our virtual galleries Hyphae and The Vault, that opened last month on December 21st.

Description;
Hyphae NFT Art Exhibition originated as an in person art exhibition in San Francisco during the month of October. Hyphae, defined as the branching filaments that make up the mycelium of a fungus, represent the beginnings of communal art bridge building and value shifting. Hosted in a former bank building, Hyphae touched on the extractive value structures disrupting life systems and facilitated perspective shifts to collectively redefine worth. The exhibit emphasized the importance of creativity and collaboration and how blockchain technology is supporting this value shift. The Hyphae gallery showcases snapshots of our land based, organic interface of IRL and URL offering intuitive pathways to engage with alternative futures. Photos and videos of these in person installations stand next to minted works of artists who participated in the exhibition telling their own story through each piece.
Work to do;
We still have about 10 artists to mint work with with varying amounts of pieces (1-5 per artist).
Costs:
$800 - Labor to Mint 10 more artists to our galleries [educate & onboard artists to NEAR, fund the creation of their wallets, have one on ones with them about NFTs & the blockchain, distill their story in relation to us, curate & format their work, minting costs]
The Vault thevault
Description:
The Kin DAO’s in person Hyphae Exhibition alchemized a space that was once a bank and initiated participants into reimagining wealth and capital. Not only was the lobby transformed into an NFT gallery but the bank vault, surrounded by concrete walls and an unbreakable steel door, was infused with the sweetness of life. Within the belly of the beast true value was intentionally placed using images and installations of water, earth, air, and ancestry.
This experiential exploration of the ways we make - and break - systems of valuation and the value systems behind them brought us to actualize our expressions of the current value movement. By placing community members on gold coins The Kin DAO challenges fiat and debt-based currencies that violently value materiality over life itself. Decoupling this materiality from value, we intentionally place our own living DAO members, community, collaborators and family into the light. We take a bold step in an era of pixelated and cartoon PFPs to guild our community.
Work to do:
We have 5-10 more coins of community members we would like to scan, create and mint for The Vault.
Costs:
$700 - Labor of scanning & creating gold busts to create new community coins [in person scan of head, creation of gold bust, creation of gold coin, one on one education with community member about blockchain, distillation of their story in relation to ours]
