[Proposal] FEMINU DAO - Before Art

[PROPOSAL] Before Art

PROPONENT: PachaPinta
Near account: tupypindo.near
Total budget: 500 USD in DAI

PROJECT TIMELINE:
To hold the first exhibition with indigenous originary artists: Majur, Cacica from the Boe Bororo people, Miguela Guarany and PachaPinta in the Voxels metaverse, at the FEMINU gallery, on a date to be defined, and to enable the access of women and LGBTQIA+ indigenous artists to the NFTs market through the Near blockchain, with encouragement from the Near Foundation.

Objective: Hold the first exhibition of Brazilian indigenous artists on the NEAR network. Provide access for indigenous artists to the Crypto Art community of the Mintbase platform on Near. Expand access to more indigenous women and LGBTQIA+ people, through dialogues and the production of NFT’s in order to expand connections within this Art market. To enable exchanges of knowledge and understanding about the native peoples of this territory, called Brazil.

Justification:
This will be the first onboarding movement of indigenous artists within the Near network, intending to hold the first exhibition of contemporary indigenous art inside Voxels, encouraging more people from these communities to join the Near network and promoting blockchain, through the incentive provided by Near Foundation.
The importance of this event is to give voice to our origins, our history, demonstrating our respect for Indigenous artists and the fundamental role that Indigenous art plays in our artistic production. There will be three artists, among them, the first trans cacica.

Blockchain Near is understood as a fertile space for production and dissemination of indigenous art and culture within the cryptocurrency and NFT market. In partnership with FEMINU we want to provide a space for dialogue and bring LGBTQIA+ artists to the exhibition “Before Art” and expand access related to originary culture and the importance of occupying all art spaces, exhibiting their work and ancestral knowledge within the web3, aiming for access to digital technologies, since many peoples are working to further develop their financial autonomy, producing and expanding the visibility of their cultures, practices and ancestral rituals.

In Brazil today, there are 896.9 thousand indigenous people, from 305 ethnic groups or peoples, and speakers of 274 indigenous languages. However, very little is known about these cultures and their importance for the cultural and environmental preservation of the country.

Invited Artists:

Miguela Guarany is a mother, visual artist, independent communicator and Guarani woman, born in the border region of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul with Paraguay. Today, she lives in the south of Bahia. His artistic work carries traits and colors that originate from the understanding of his own ancestry, memories, experiences and dreams and is based on research on the traditions and spirituality of his people, in particular, through the studies and meanings of the “Rein porã see haguã nde kepe”, in Portuguese, an exercise in dreaming. She is part of the National Contemporary Indigenous Art movement.

Majur Traitowu, of the Baadojeba and Iwagudu clans, the first trans chieftain of the Boe-Bororo people. Her parents are important elders of the Boe people, who instructed Majur to continue her leadership in the Apido Paru village, placing herself between the non-indigenous world and the village, helping various audiovisual and research projects on native culture.

PachaPinta afro-indigenous in recovery, mother and visual artist, born in the south of Bahia, in a territory where the Pataxó peoples inhabit, has been (re)connecting the stories of the indigenous women of her Gulunária and Luzia family, like a walk back home, to your people. In the midst of this trajectory, it has the Guarany and Tupinikim peoples of Espírito Santo as a bridge to strengthen the original culture, where they live and develop community cultural projects.
