Hello there,
my name is Efte and I am trying to get project going that is about generative profile picture art within the NFT community.
Why?
I haven’t seen any profile-picture-collection on NEAR, yet, and as I was browsing through the NFT-space to educate myself I had a few ideas that I thought I could make a reality with the right people around me: I want(ed) to empower artists within the community to give artists the possibility to be part of something that could be lucrative and community-building for them while generating value to the NEAR ecosystem at the same time due to cool and fun art within a community that has helped me numerous times and that I just find very welcoming, warmhearted and engaging in the sense that creative ideas are always welcome!
How?
As mentioned - I am on my own and I have no art-skills nor do I have a lot money to work with. I just have ideas, determination and I am pretty structured so I usually act on what I really want. And I would really love this thing to get going.
First I was lookin for an artist which I believe I have found, that I can work together with. That doesn’t mean that there’s no room for additional artists to join the project, but obviously in the beginning it’s best just to get going with one. I am happy I found somebody in Paras, so I can give somebody the chance to advertise their art while being part of this.
When the first artworks are created and we decided which style to choose, I will create a Discord-group, and with the help of other members in NEAR (James f.e. who is helping people to have a nice roadmap for there projects, bringing pfp-artists and other contributers together to brainstorm about nice ideas) I want to get the marketing going to create a small community around the project.
The rest of it is probably quite normal, but my main idea / intention / goal is to create more collections to not just have turtles, but also fish, whales, octopus etc.
Owning pieces of the first collection allows people to reap benefits in the other collections (discounts, whitelisting, etc. - just an idea) and I wanna create mechanisms that makes holding one piece disproportionally more valuable than two pieces - to really benefit the fish rather than the whales within the community - with still potential monetary upside for the bigger players as well.
What?
A few ideas for now are:
→ Collection with anywhere around 500 and 10k pieces, depending on feedback of any sort
→ Creating the Discord, brainstorm with people and get a community going that can create partially
→ Introducing a DAO so at some point this project will potentially be self-sustaining
→ create mechanisms that reward people with less pieces disproportionally more than bigger players
→ benefit people that were there earlier more than others:
-i don’t know if this is technically possible, but: I would like to increase royalty depending on the amounts of sells, creating incentive to just be part of the community rather than flip pieces
-this will hopefully create a feeling that makes the club more unique and special, which will make up for less sold pieces but for a higher prices
→ Splitting the money into 3 parts:
-NGO: As we have problems with global warming I wanna give a way somewhere around 25-50% for projects that are working for saving the planet, especially keeping our oceans healthy
-community fund: I wanna at least put 25% of the income back to a community fund, which the DAO will decide how much will be used for what purpose. Putting trust into the community that they’ll not just decide to transfer the fund’s reserve to their own accounts
-the rest will be split between the team and me in a transparent manner
→ utilities:
-after the release I wanna create a scavenger-hunt-like game where people can use the NFTs as tickets and can win prices that depend partially on the success of the initial drop
-cross-area-collabs: I am an active member of the community within the gaming area of NEAR - I hope we can create useful collabs to give people more value
-future releeases: To keep the community engaged for now I envision one initial hyped drop and in the future to have some continious drops with smaller numbers on weekly bases. People could decide to buy pieces pre-drop already or we will have community-intern-auctions for some pieces and others will be sold publicly
- I AM ON THE HUNT FOR EVEN MORE IDEAS! this is just the beginning, and additionally I have only brainstormed with a handful of people. The moment we can interact with the collective creativity of a community I think there will be alot more fruitful ideas that strengthen the community and give it some kind of value - breeding mechanisms and other stuff, but for me ideas have to be exciting and not just cheap copy-cats.
This is my whole plan for now - I am open for ideas and I will now request a funding of 200 NEAR to get this thing going to pay my artist for the next couple of months and havin some money in the reserve to see what I can do with it. I hope this is the way to go for proposals and I thank you for reading through my ideas.
