[PROPOSAL] NEAR Workshop at ETH Denver by the Marma J Foundation

Initiative Summary

Chloe, the founder of the Marma J Foundation, was asked by the NEAR Community Team to speak at the Multi-DAO Workshop to support NEAR at ETH Denver. The workshop will take place on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 1:00 - 1:30 PM. This workshop will explore the wonders and possibilities of multi-DAO governance and the multi-call custom function on NEAR DAO tooling. This workshop is for DAO enthusiasts and developers.

In addition to this workshop, Chloe will also be participating in the Fireside Chat led by H.E.R.DAO on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, and moderating the NFT Building Blocks panel on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

We would like to propose that the Marketing DAO provide support to cover the Marma J Foundation’s travel expenses and accommodations (lodging and gas) necessary to arrive and participate in the ETH Denver events.

Metrics For Measuring Success

  • Chloe to successfully lead and participate in the following events:
    • Fireside chat with H.E.R.DAO
    • Multi-DAO Workshop
    • NFT Building Blocks Panel
  • Marma J Foundation to promote the workshop organically through our social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram), minimum of 5 posts/ platform tagging NEAR Protocol

The timeline for this event is as follows:

  • February 10-13: Travel from Toronto to Denver
  • February 15: Fireside chat with H.E.R DAO
  • February 17: Multi-DAO Workshop
  • February 19: Moderate NFT Building Blocks Panel
  • February 19-21: Travel from Denver to Toronto

Achievement milestones include:

  • Successful delivery and participation in 3 ETH Denver events
  • Post a minimum of 5 organic social posts (per platform) between February 13-19, 2022

@marketingdao-council the payout was received to the marmaj DAO thank you very much :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Notes:

The price of NEAR at the time of payout was $9.14, so the total amount to cover the proposal would be ~213 NEAR.

Would love more clarification as to what the process is for ensuring that the funds received actually cover the cost of a proposal. The current process seems inefficient considering it has been 13 days since this proposal was approved on Astro DAO and it seems unreasonable that the price of NEAR would stay constant for 2 weeks…

Seems like a USD amount could be agreed upon in a poll and then Near Finance could just pay out that NEAR equivalent when they get around to it?

If you need further funding, just make a request using the current format.

Agree, and we do encourage requests to be denominated in USD.

[REPORT] NEAR Workshop at ETH Denver by the Marma J Foundation

Following the Marma J Foundation’s involvement at ETH Denver, we are happy to report that the timeline was successfully completed. From February 10-23, the Marma J Foundation travelled to and attended the ETH Denver conference in Denver, Colorado. During the conference, @chloe successfully delivered and presented in 3 ETH Denver events. These events were:

  1. Fireside chat with H.E.R DAO
  2. Multi-DAO Workshop
  3. Moderated the NFT Building Blocks Panel

Of the achievement milestones, our first objective was successfully completed.

For our organic social media posts, we had proposed:

However, we did not successfully complete this target. For this objective, two original posts were created within the timeline:

We regret that we could not complete the three additional original posts per platform in the original proposed timeline. Going forward, proposals involving social media posts will be fulfilled by ensuring that:

  • All posts are pre-scheduled to be released within the proposed timeline
  • Posts are original and fulfill original requirements
  • Posts are shared on the appropriate social platforms
  • Posts include relevant tags and hashtags to NEAR
