Please feel free to reply to this post with any comments about the proposal so that we can ensure community alignment with our proposed plans.
TL;DR
The Marma J Foundation is requesting 5k USD (in $NEAR) for 2 activations in the month of April.
Social Good x Pixel Party Holiday/Easter Event
Gaming Guide NFTs with Mintbase & Harmonic
These events are meant to be recurring events that grow to no longer need grant funding once they have gone through enough iterations. We are hoping to engage with casual users and support them into adopting NEAR tech for the simple reason that NEAR is a blockchain where every day users can engage and have fun while learning.
Hey there @Cryptonaut, thanks for the quick response to our proposal .
While we have interacted with hundreds of artists within our community in the past, we generally do not select creators for bountiful before knowing that we have funding to support a project.
We will have an Open Call to request artists to join the event and to make sure we can efficiently on-board these artists into the ecosystem.
Generally @tabear has a lot of experience supporting with Open Calls with her role in Muti DAO and we would look to her for support to ensure we have selected the 12 artists that we feel will continue to engagem within our community in future iterations of the project.
It would also be great to try and reach out to cool NEAR community artists and see if they want to participate like @zeitwarp
Most of the artists that we engage with are very creative and solve solutions in the Web2 space constantly. Our main goal is to showcase the ways what Web3 might also be valuable to solve some problems that they may not have found solutions for; or are simply looking for something different/better/more interesting .
My main goal would be to turn all 12 artists into Marma J Gaming contributors .
We have our contribution guide available already, but we are ramping up towards on-boarding contributors, but imo the pre-step to that is education and ensuring alignment.
This is a part of our long term goal because it supports one of our projects (Pixelparty) in various ways, it on-boards and educates a dozen potential contributors to our GitHub , and it allows us to support creatives as a funding dissemination mechanism. All of these are core to the Marma J Foundation continuing to educate on leveraging Web3 technology for social good.
Sorry, I think I was changing the numbers and didn’t triple check them before submission.
There was no difference here. It was meant to show that the total amount for @Earnest would be $750. I’ll make the change here and make it clear in the doc.
It currently shows:
And it should show
$187.5/guide:
video $75
airdrop $75
NFT creation $37.5
187.5 * 4 = $750 which is the original amount.
The change was made to try and ensure we were efficiently allocating funding towards the Harmonic team for their dev work on the project.
Thanks for bringing the discrepancy to our attention .
