This is the report to this Proposal:
Greetings Community and Creatives at large.
It was a great experience hosting the first Stage Drama for Thespians DAO. We had in mind to start rehearsals from 15th to 19th July, 2022; then go on stage on 20th July. But we slowed down because of delay in funding. In Theater, we always believe that the show must go on, so we started our rehearsals on 16th and went on stage on 21st.
PRE-PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES:
Because of delay in funding, we had a meeting with an Executive Producer (franklingerard.near), who we onboarded during the event. Because of his love for Theatre, he agreed to bring out money for the Drama, then gets his money back when NF funds us.
We wrote letters to different Tertiary Institutions and JPTS INSTITUTE welcomed us and agreed to allow us entertain and educate their students about the Web3 Ecosystem, NFT and NEAR Protocol.
Another challenge was space for rehearsals and staging of the Event, as JPTS INSTITUTE does not have the kind of space we needed.
We had to write to a hotel in our neighborhood (Rosies Hotels), to partner with us and let us use their Event Hall for rehearsals and Staging of the Play (free of charge). Though we promised them so many goodies that can make them allow us use their hall for free.
We had actors coming in from different states in Nigeria, so instead of booking one room for the Director, we needed to book two rooms. We deducted the cost of the room from our Council’s Payment for the month.
Then we started the Drama
We had to design and print out the Stage Drama artwork;
which we hung in strategic areas in the Neighborhood…
PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES:
On 20th, we were already done with lighting up the stage:
And we also made sure finishing touches on the Set design were seen to…
On the D day, we started with some lectures on Web3 Ecosystem, NFT, and NEAR Protocol. We had some of the Thespians DAO members talked to our guests;
And we also connected live with @fritzworm who answered questions from guests and added more lights to our topic
We also had to onboard and open wallets for 21 New NEARians during the project:
After the lectures and onboarding of New NEARians, we started with the Stage Drama, which featured different actors and actresses
And we had some Traditional Drummers who gave us some melodious sounds
POST PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES:
It was a success, and everything went according to plan. We have a highlight of the Drama on YouTube:
The full Drama is more than an hour, and we minted it as an Unlockable to our “20” NFTs that are now on Mintbase, at Thespians DAO store:
