Hi everyone! Just wanted to keep you updated on how we are doing with our Sacred Waters DAO.
Last week our collective Selvame del Tren had another big victory as the full route 5 of the Mayan train ( now including from Cancun to Playa) was stopped thanks to a lawsuit is a temporary suspension but finally the Mexican government admitted they don’t have the required environmental studies for this route.
We will now the final resolution to both this coming 27 of May.
We sent our presentation about the DAO to the group and have been on boarding one by one key members of this collective and people that have been fighting for years to protect our natural wonders.
We have also got DAO team members to start taking the Near NCA certification to become familiar with the NEAR ecosystem.
As we setup a mintbase store for our NFTs we have also been talking with artists about the collections and this week we are preparing a presentation of how it would look and the dynamics that we want to create around it.
We have contacted a colectivo or world reknow muralist from Barcelona that come to Mexico to create 70 meters tall murals in Boca Del Rio Veracruz. And they are interested in creating NFTs puzzle collections showing the biodiverdisity of the impacted zone in the Mayan Jungle and to come to Quintana Roo to do murals and onboarding events with us.
We have onboarded to our DAO one of the experts in water and sewage pollution, Mayan communities and creator of videos for this subjects for more than 20 years.
We met with our mentors during Tulum Crypto Fest to talk about this an other projects we have to help regenerate Tulum. 50 Near wallets were open during this event for those projects.
We created a video to explain NFTs to the group and are familiarizing them with the NEAR ecosystem and the functions of the Astro DAO so they can create their own DAOs for their own organizations.

We have a zoom meeting this coming Thursday with 8 people from the leadership of the Selvame del Tren group and are integrating other groups also supporting the cause.
I want to make clear we are in no way against the goverment or the project. Our objective has always been asking for the train to go back to the original route by the highway and to have all the environental studies that are needed to do tji in the best possible way so it has the minimun damage to the underground rivers, ocean and cenotes our SACRED WATERS,
