We organized a workshop to share our experiences with the applications we developed with Near-Widgets and met with a developer community from Akdeniz University.

Although many people have just heard of Near, we can honestly say that they are excited about the products we have developed with Near and the power of Near BOS. One indication of this was that many people stayed indoors until the end of the event.

AI Chatbot Widget Development with NEAR medium article in English language

Why did we develop a chatbot widget?

More and more groups are developing chatbots to automate tasks, inspired by the “Make your own chatbot” trend started by the availability of large language models (LLMs) and their API services. ChatGPT, Bard AI, GPT4ALL, and others are popular examples of LLMs that can be used to create chatbots. We created a NEAR widget that makes it easy for anyone to use a customizable chatbot in blockchain. This widget demonstrates the power of widgets and their relevance to current technology trends. As a first step towards our goal of implementing these systems on the blockchain, this widget is a glimpse into the future of chatbots in blockchain. We believe that these chatbots, document-analyzing LLM models, and instructor LLMs will become more common in the near future, as these technologies continue to improve.

How did we develop AI chatbot section?

In addition to the Sidebar and Modal components, our widget also includes an AI chatbot component. This is where users interact with the chatbot, which uses the attributes specified in the Sidebar component. There are four key components to creating a customizable character imitation AI chatbot:

LLM: The core of the chatbot, responsible for generating responses to user queries (prompts).
Prompt engineering: The process of formatting prompt strings to ensure that the model uses the specified character features.
Chat history: The history of conversations between the chatbot and the user, which is essential for creating a chatbot that sounds more human-like.
UI: The user interface that users interact with to view the chat history and interact with the chatbot.

NDC elections

In August and September our main focus was on the NDC elections. We invited our community to participate in the elections and shared educational content:

Conclusion:
We are happy to have an active NEAR community in Türkiye since 2021. Our next step is to onboard more users to NEAR, focus on the NDC v0/v1 KPIs & goals and build our community further with the support from MDAO and NDC (HOM, CoA, TC). Meanwhile we will continue our work with our developers and onboard more users to the built projects on NEAR and continue Workshops with University students.
