You guys did a great job in terms of dev activities and other partnership things, I personally attended one of those sessions. But still, I have some doubts in terms of community growth:
I know Twitter and Telegram are banned in your region, and you have an alternate option like the WhatsApp community for Telegram chat. But I won’t consider WhatsApp an ideal option as it has some limitations. For Twitter, I have seen some suspicious followers there. Also, if Twitter was banned, then who is following Near Pak Twitter? Are you sure you are targeting your region’s audience?
Social Media channels are base for any regional community.
Again, June is a tough month for all DAOs as we are prioritizing our top-performing communities and stopping all our experiments. I have written my reasons, and unfortunately, I am not willing to support this proposal.
For Twitter as I mentioned in my March Report that it was an old account turned into Near Pakistan, also when we announced a contest we saw that it got views from our region and people participated in it, As per many reports most of the Pakistanis are using Twitter by using VPN so that is why we got ahead with Twitter, we have planned many activities for twitter Like hosting Spaces and other stuff in this month. As far as whatsapp is confirmed everyone uses whatsapp rather than telegram as for telegram we need VPN everytime and discord there are not that much users so our last option was whatsapp , And we are doing really well in growing our community, I can share everyone details how they joined it and from which event as we have Registration forms for every event , hope it clarifies your doubts.
I’m happy to see the growth and commitment from Near Pakistan and applied for funding from Globe DAO.
But, unfortunately, this June, we’re forced to follow the NDC status that needs to be stopped. We’re really struggling to come up with a policy that won’t please everyone.
Personally, Near Pakistan is one of the regional communities worth considering. However, given all the limitations and considerations, I couldn’t your proposal this time.
Hello Near Pakistan,
Sorry to inform you that June is the last month of NDC and will move to the new structure, with a limited budget, we can only focus on the Top-tier communities (tier B, tier C) at the moment so I can’t support you this time!
I hope we can co-op again in the new structure and I really appreciate your work!
