This is a PSA to all users of the forum in regards to the use of ‘Sock Puppet Accounts’.

What are Sock Puppet Accounts?

" We define a sockpuppet as a fictitious online identity created for the purposes of deception . Sockpuppets are usually created in large numbers by a single controlling person or group. They are typically used for block evasion, creating false majority opinions, vote stacking, and other similar pursuits"

Please be aware that admins are aware when some users may be utilising sock puppet accounts on the forum.

If you’re leveraging these in an attempt to sway opinion, claim multiple rewards, or enter events with multiple pseudonyms then you risk having your forum account banned.

There are a small number of users using sock puppet accounts on the forum. This is a warning to those using them to refrain before a deeper investigation is launched.

I do not think such attempts benfit the dignity and seriousness of our community. As you mentioned, such attempts can be detected with little effort. I strongly discourage such actions

How we can prevent this sock puppet accounts.?

It’s a lot of manual work from the admin side atm. We can strengthen the automatic restrictions if it persists.
