[Proposal] "The Beat-tape show"

Introduction
In the era of digital music, it is increasingly common for a sound recording from one piece of music to emerge in an entirely new song. This practice is called music sampling, and it has had profound impacts on the music industry.

Presenting “The Beat-tape show”
This is a show that’s set aside to test the creative sides of producers and revive the sampling culture that was once loved.

How does it work?
Three samples would be provided so that they can be varieties of beat ideas from the producers. Five beats would be used to create a beat tape/playlist and they’d be minted on the vandao NFT store with splits.
10% for the dao treasury, 90% to the producers.

Producers will be given a week to flip the sample into any genre of their choice and the winners would be announced by the council.
(Note: The samples would be provided by me. To avoid copyright issues.)

A Google form would be provided with details (name of artiste, title of song, telegram username, discord username, and near wallet address) for submission purposes.

Voting would be based on

  1. Creativity
  2. Uniqueness.
  3. Good sounding.
    Which will be done by the council.

Benefits.

  1. Bringing more producers to the space to show off their creativity and boost the ecosystem.
  2. The top 5 flips would be minted on the Vandao NFT store , giving royalties to both the producers and dao.
  3. Minted beats could also be used to create a playlist on Emanate and also on Tamago to raise some funds

At the end of the challenge, participants would win prizes.

Five producers would be chosen and each would be awarded ($70)x5 = $350

Management: $150
Help in managing the show, providing the samples to be used. Monitoring every entry, making sure they’re members of the dao
and selecting the ones to make it to the Beat-tape.

Total requested funds - $500 DAI
For the month of April(last week of April)

Peace @skthealternator this is looking good so far! Would love it if you could break down the following with more detail:

What would the splits look like?

Can you provide more details on what management entails. Also keep in mind that there is usually only 30% of the total budget for projects can be requested for the facilitation fee.

@vandal Just made some adjustments to the proposal.
Filled in a 90/10 splits for the producers and the treasury dao.

Also increased the number of selections to 5.
And each of them will receive $70 when selected as winners for the Beat-tape.

I saw the edits to the proposal and I’m having a hard time seeing the difference between this one and the one you’ve submitted for BeatDAO. As much as I like the idea I also feel like it’s not quite fitting in with the VanDAO theme (aside from tapping into community members and using the VanDAO store for the NFTs).

If you can rework the proposal to make it more unique to VanDAO we could consider including it in April funding round.
