The lecture “Morality and Literary Fiction,” embedded in The Philosopher DAO project, aims to present two case studies of reciprocal feedbacks between literary fictional constructs and philosophical standards for evaluating moral agency. The background of the talk is to offer two examples of this methodological insight from Nelson Goodman in Ways of Worldmaking: “”…is that the arts must be taken no less seriously than the sciences as modes of discovery, creation, and enlargement of knowledge in the broad sense of advancement of the understanding, and thus that the philosophy of art should be conceived as an integral part of metaphysics and epistemology".
The seminar will take place on June 30th, online.
It will be held in Portuguese.
