The seminar will address two cases in which art and philosophy can contribute to one another. First, I will present the relation between dance improvisation and the enactive theory of cognition, which can help the enactive theory and the understanding of dance. Second, I will raise questions regarding character design and gender inequality and about how to overcome the dilema between characterization and stereotype, to address the urgency of a more throughout investigation of such topic in philosophy.
Nara Figueiredo is a Professor of Philosophy in Brazil. She works mainly with philosophy of mind and philosophy of language, epistemology, creative movement and virtual reality.
