Nomade Label is celebrating 100 years of Gilberto Mendes in September and October, uniting 4 DAOs in the common purpose of highlighting the life and work of this great Brazilian artist.

As we got the great opportunity to be present in the Gilberto Mendes Week in Santos, we are planning 2 days of artistic presentations in the Concha Acústica and film exhibitions in the cinema Cine Arte Posto 4.
In order to make the best out of this opportunity, we intend not only to record the events to expand our online collection, but also to promote our DAO’s activities on web3 by providing free NFTs to the participants through QR codes around the event area. We will also take this opportunity to onboard new users to the NEAR Ecosystem.
The printed material is planned to take the public to our web2 ecosystem, as a strategy to facilitate the interaction to the web3 over time. Through our web2 media, users can better understand and interact with our content, creating a more solid base to onboard new users.
Objective
The idea of bringing the web3 environment to a different city from our current circuit (São Paulo/Rio de Janeiro) through is as much exciting as it is challenging.
The first step is to create an open call for the 4 participant DAOs of the project (Nomade Label, Procd, Filmes de Infiltração and Antimetodo) and gather the artist, production and filming team to stay in Santos for 3 nights to do the production of the event, as well as the performances and exhibitions.
The first day (10.October) will be a multidisciplinar event involving dance, video mapping and musical presentations in Concha Acústica.
The second day (11.October) will present a film exhibition session in Cine Arte Posto 4, special cinema in the city, which was demanded by Gilberto Mendes himself.
For this to happen, we are planning ourselves in advance, so that the budget and preparation can be splitted among the months of September and October. We estimate that the whole team (production, artist and photo/film) will summon 15 people. For the event to be possible, we intend to guarantee the basic budget of stay and transport for each participant, assuring the execution of the planned program.
Later in October, each individual proposal will be posted on the forum with their proper expenses, apart from the basic ones that are already listed here.
Justification
“Semana Gilberto Mendes” is getting to be a traditional event in Santos, with great attention from the media, since it counts with the support of the local city hall. Since it gathers thousands of people in the city during the whole week, it will be a great opportunity not only to interact with other artists with common interests and gather the local scene, but also to share Nomade Label’s activities in the web3.
Since the event is already promoted by the city of Santos, most of the basic equipment will be already provided in the location, such as the lighting and the sound system. Extra gear which will be relevant for our performances, like a proper video projector, are not listed in their budget, therefore it adds to ours.
