During the past couple of months, Open Web Sandbox and the NEAR Ecosystem have been growing exponentially. On one hand, our team is happily welcoming dozens of newcomers to the OWS daily and on the other, NEAR Ecosystem keeps becoming a new home for the many exciting projects and guilds.
As a human-centric digital hub, our team would like to ensure that people who come to OWS seeking a practical application for their talents within the ecosystem, get more chances to create valuable and meaningful impact for NEAR Protocol.
The same is valid for the projects and guilds: Open Web Sandbox aspires to assist with the smoothest possible onboarding for the newcomers and create the best conditions for them to kick-start their adventure in the NEAR Ecosystem. Therefore, Open Web Sandbox is shifting its strategic focus even more in the direction of providing the necessary and custom-fit support for all projects and guilds within the NEAR ecosystem.
What does it mean?
As of February 2022, Open Web Sandbox will solely focus on connecting Sandboxers with projects and guilds in need. Tasks from the Rolling Opportunities list will no longer be available for individual contributors.
The tasks from the rolling opportunities will still be available to perform but ONLY if one of the NEAR Guilds/projects specifically requests them.
For example, the Flying Rhino Guild is currently looking for engaged contributors to create and execute social media publications for their clients. Our team will contact 15 contributors who have proven to deliver quality work in that domain during the last couple of months and will offer them this opportunity for the whole month of February (chosen contributors will be contacted in the nearest couple of days). This way those who were engaged with the Social Media Force activities will still be able to perform their quality work and deliver greater and focused value for the whole ecosystem.
Additionally, our team is currently discussing collaborations with multiple other projects and guilds: the goal is to have double as many projects opportunities on our dashboard by February! So definitely keep an eye these days on our website, Discord or Twitter to be among the first applicants for these exciting opportunities to learn and earn!
What’s next?
As the rolling opportunities list will be discarded as of today, all the work done around will be compensated for the period 1st- 13th of Jan. You will still be rewarded for your efforts in accordance with a standard rewards procedure but only for half of the month this time.
- You have till the 20th of January to submit your contribution report to one of the moderators
- Our team will check submitted reports by the 25th of January and will publish the mist of rewards in $NEAR on the 25th of January
- You will have till the 28th of January to submit a payout proposal on OWS Astro DAO
- All submitted payout proposals will be approved by the 30th of January

- These deadlines and regulations do not apply to Sandboxers who are already occupied with current project opportunities at the moment: for you the regular timeline is applicable (25.01-report; 30.01-feedback/payment form with rewards in NEAR; 03.02-DAO proposal; 05.02-DAO proposal approved).
This is a new chapter in the history of the Open Web Sandbox. Our team is excited to see Sandboxers create even more tremendous and invaluable things daily and help projects and guilds on their way to success. We believe, that each and every one of us separately and together, as a community, through creative, devoted and consistent effort, has helped the NEAR Ecosystem to become what it is today - a divergent oasis of greatness in the blockchain space.
