As a staunch follower of the Near ecosystem I came across the Near crowd platform which I was even recommending to friends. It was all a joyous and merry relationship until I woke to a heartbreak message asking us to convert to either invites at 21 NEAR that may never get sold or to 5 NEAR tokens. As much as the world of cryptocurrency should and is decentralised I’d have to say we’ve been really exploited.
I joined this same platform barely a month ago and after working tirelessly for about 2 weeks I’ve been able to withdraw around 18 NEAR tokens of which I paid 17 NEAR for registration. More so, I must say I am really disappointed that with the lot of enthusiasm I have for this project it gets to end in the mud with such a heartbreak.
I also find this degrading as when you see how the people on russian segment thinking that when english speaking people enters the other nearcrowd project, it will get close soon enough or the tasks will be made with poor quality. NEARCrowd embedded it to their mind that the tasks made by the other segment is an inferior one.
Plus I find it totally off when the owner keeps on telling things earlier when the nearcrowd started that the accounts/invites will be sold as 1million usd for their rarity and there will be 20 million images that need to be labeled. People got enticed with the idea they gave but lacks of integrity to do so.
Invites are still up on selling at the website for specific amount and they still not shutting it down. What if there are people who wil buy it and found out that they can’t do anything with the accounts they got? Then the owner told that there is a pinned post on the english community regarding the closure of english segment. The problem is, the only telegram group linked to their main website is the russian one and when you ask people there (on the russian community) its either they will not answer you or talk to you with sarcasm.
I feel bad for people who got late and never got their ROI back.

I started with NEARCrowd a few weeks after it opened the doors. I spoke with the Admin on Telegram and was accepted for free and over the course of the following months I performed what seemed like 1 million tasks. There is a feature where you can invite others to do the same and receive 5% on what ever they do for tasks. I believe I invited over 12 people if I remember correctly and didn’t receive any of the 5% compensation and when I brought this up to the Admin of NEARCrowd he rudely responded that he would do nothing and the program is as it is. We went back and forth and he told me I had the choice to walk away from NEARCrowd if I didn;t like what they were doing. I backed off nd continued doing my tasks until the announcement of the English Task Set to discontinue. From that point on almost immediately the review time frame for tasks took days in stead of hours. But only on my account and not for any of the people I invited. I had an invite pending that I did not receive either. I also tried the Starfish program and did not receive any of my rewards. Of course the Admin was not willing to help. In the 2 years I’ve been in Crypto I’ve never come in contact with someone who was so rude and unprofessional. I’m all set to take my NEAR to Binance and convert it to another coin and walk away from this project as a whole.
As a heads up, NEARCrowd is an independent project and isn’t an official NEAR project. Naturally, it’s not great to see you guys have had a poor experience but I wouldn’t let it stain your view of NEAR Protocol or the wider ecosystem.
I agree. NEAR Protocol has a lot of great projects (and DeFis are my favorite) please explore other options and don’t let unpleasant experiences ruin the ride!
