Every week I provide a weekly snapshot of what we are hearing and learning in the GWG (Governance Working Group) about the NEAR Digital Collective (NDC) for the entire community. This will NOT be a comprehensive, deep dive into everything that is happening, but insights, ideas, and questions for the entire community for a quick update.

WHAT IS OUR PULSE THIS WEEK?
So much is going on!
CONSENSUS event in Austin, Texas is POPPING. (http://consensus.coindesk.com)
April 26-28th NEAR and the NDC movement will be on full display with events and panels. We also have a new EVENTS WORKGROUP that’s involved in the planning, which is great because the planning is happening locally and globally.

WORKGROUPS are BOOMING.
The NFT WG grew to 85 -100 people in less than three days and is doing a huge re-think on how NFTs can return to thrive on the protocol
The REGIONAL WG is exploring the crucial issues of regions and how they can best thrive with new ideas and voices joining the conversation
The COMMUNITY EVENTS WG is gathering the best events people from around the world to grapple with how events can empower community members IRL so that there’s more cohesive glue to the protocol
The AI WG is ramping up quickly and taking on a totally current topic: how can AI support a decentralized culture and protocol?
The DISTRO WG is developing a charter that supports creation of the first NEAR Amplification Engine; creating and implementing a decentralized way to amplify news and announcements in a simple but powerful way to get the news to everyone, everywhere.
The TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION/TRANSPARENCY COMMISSION – (currently these are two groups, though might be sub-groups to each other) is doing the hard thinking about how to oversee and engage in best ethical practices and better conflict resolution.
And, more Workgroups are coming.
