Vanchan also known as the “Shadow Zen” is one of the most skilled denizen who step foot on the surface, topsiders call him “shadow zen” becuase of the fact that they only knows that he exist they don’t know him visually as Vanchan don’t have any records or photographs that would reveal his identity.
He lives with a mysterious old man Akasuki who took him and also train him how to survive in this cruel world, they share the same interest especially music in general they would sing, dance and laugh despite the harsh life downside. Vanchan would do anything for Akasuki as he’s the only one he got left.
Until one day…
Akasuki was abducted by unknown group of denizens, Vanchan rush to the rusty neighborhood with his robot Sputnik after he saw their small rusty shelter destroyed and Akasuki nowhere to be found.
He ask Misaki the only other denizen Vanchan would talk to since she understand and gets him but unfortunately she didnt saw anything but she notice something before the abduction, she saw a suspecious group of unknown denizens with a crow mask wandering in their area.
Vanchan gasp and remember the story about the “crows” which Akasuki told him long time ago, he then rush to the topside and go to Mienai an illegal bar place which secretly a trading place where denizens pretend as topsiders and buy foods, clothes, and techonologies from topside that don’t exist downside.
Vanchan easily arrive to Mienai without getting caught or noticed by ang topside’s enforcers, without hesitation he directly confront the place owner asking about the “crows” and what do he knows about Akasuki.
Akane the Bar owner slowly approach Vanchan and quitely whisper “Let’s talk in my office”, Vanchan follows the big old man to the secret place behind the big painting which surprise vanchan as he saw pictures of Akasuki and unknown other people, while Vanchan still confuse about whats happening Akane reveals that Akasuki is his brother.
Akane then told Vanchan about “Everything” and he need Vanchan to trust him, Vanchan still confuse and proccessing about the “Everything” but his desperate self agrees as he would do everything for Akasuki.
Vanchan’s First mission is to make an appearance to topside’s media instruct by Akane.
Vanchan and sputnik then go to their first mission and trigger the enforcers and hold back his hyperspeed to be captured with a camera and make an appearance for the first time.
Not a minute after Vanchan’s appearance spreads topsides like a virus spreading to kill the host.
Is Akasuki really the man he knows after all those 11 years with him?
