Progress in the Week of 2021/03/01:

  1. Build: complete the testing version of NEAR integration with one parnter (> 10K user base)
  2. Build: share the ideas / design of NEAR integration with another partner
  3. Community: NEAR Developer Docs Translation: work with CN community for translation and proof reading
  4. Education: NEAR Certified Developer Program: summarize community feedback and make improvement plan with Sherif
  5. Community: Technical posts proof reading about Bridge, etc., with Homer He
  6. Event: prepare Bridge / interoperability presentation with Conflux
  7. Support: support validator staking from a top exchange

Priorities in the Week of 2021/03/08:

  1. Build: resume the testing and development with two partners with large user base
  2. Community: NEAR Developer Docs Chinese Translation: deploy Concepts chapter into staging
  3. Education: NEAR Certified Developer Program: help with cohort 2, with Sherif and Sasha
  4. Community: Technical posts proof reading, depending on Homer’s plan
  5. Event: get ready the Bridge presentation with Conflux
  6. Build: NEAR Integration with one exchange if time allows
  7. Education: Near Cheat Sheet: finish the design

Progress from last week

  • Faucet for Ethereum Holders MPV done https://github.com/zavodil/near-ethereum-faucet: client server app to check ethereum account (ownership and balance) and issue linkdrops to claim NEAR accounts. Important part of a Rainbow Bridge Launch and users onboarding
  • Near Auth app done for social authorisations with idea to mint NFT tokens for contributors of visible crypto repositories and furthermore send them NEAR tokens using their github handler / or help them to collect tips over their repos GitHub - zavodil/near-auth
  • Prepared code to write an “example” of cross call using fingable token standard. It is a meaningful example with simple DeFi interop GitHub - zavodil/matryoshka
  • That DeFi cross calls app had been shown in the Rainbow Bridge AMA with call to action for developers to come and build DeFi on NEAR https://youtu.be/c1CY2ubdTMA?t=2661 of NEAR youtube
  • NEAR Certified Developer course improvements: started work with the 2 Near Academy contracts and simulations tests to migrate from AS to Rust
  • Had several calls with Cameron to developers about bounty program, addressed few of their pain points to appropriate issues lists

Priorities for next week

  • Finish work for Sherif’s Near Academy contracts
  • Start to reformat bounties list (add tiers / categories / grants). Add notifications for new bounties
  • Build a Discord bot to notify devs about new bounties. We had a request for that. Maybe extend to twitter / telegram if we will have a good response.
  • Prepare a tutorial for cross-calls on NEAR using GitHub - zavodil/matryoshka
  • Create a form to collect data of Devs from the RU community who want to build on NEAR with potential to create a localized course if we will have enough interest.
  • Build another one useful app on NEAR (current plan is one app per week)

      • Got a list of things Cameron needs to be done, imported them sa GitHub issues
      • Blocked currently in step one bc clay.run isn’t working.
    • Been reading up on Matt’s example apps, so that I can productize them
    • Synced with Mally re: Culture interviews + had her shadow her first one
    • Q1 gift boxes matches via script with Evgeny Kapun’s help.
      • Chasing down people for the letters

    • Work on the issues Cameron needs solved for the dev list
      • Unblock myself with a meeting with Clay on tuesday
    • Working sesh with Peter on productizing these examples.

    -Collab with Yessin and Gus on grants process
    -Optimizing for speed and efficiency (will not sacrifice quality or robustness)
    -Manually moving apps through the process, ALL grants are past the initial intake phase and in some stage of “review” right now, zero lapse (even the one that arrived this morning!)
    -Establish Partnerships (several great meetings)

    -Partnership Opps (side note: we need a Directory + CRM // will coordinate with Ash)

Progress from last week

Developer Database: Made a ton of progress with the developer database. We should have enough information and structure to start running highly targeted outreach and feedback campaigns. - Airtable - Technical Contributors

BD

  • Brokering a relationship between two “Miami DAO” projects that are interested in building on NEAR. One has already written a NEAR Grant proposal but is awaiting my feedback + approval.

  • Sourced two conference sponsorship opportunities in Miami. In marketing’s hands.

  • Handed off First Blood partnership to marketing. I’m excited for this.

  • Brokering relationship between Atari and Marketing. It was supposed to be handed off this week but people are moving slower than expected.

  • Connected Nima to Hsin-Ju from Dystopia Labs to run our upcoming conference.

    VC Referral

  • Spoke with Stake Zero, Hashed, North Island, and Slow Ventures

  • Introduced Mintgate and Somnium Space to VC’s in our network

  • Made Principle at Slow Venture - Ashton Kutcher’s fund a NEAR name

    Open Web Guild

  • I’m drafting a grant to support a team at BAF that is building an optionally custodial wallet + a web 2 to web 3 auth system on NEAR. We call it the BAF Wallet and it will be what people use to hold their NEAR-based tokens and NFTs.

  • Got two BAF Members to start recording themselves read influential medium articles and Twitter threads because people don’t like to read. This could be relevant for NEAR later

  • Got someone to launch a bi-weekly hackathon project + startup pitch session
