All there ever was, is, will be

(A Shakespearean sonnet)

A friend to all and yet a friend to none,
The one resource that makes all men equal;
Our greatest gift, one which can only burn,
Time can either be a bridge or a wall.

Time is the beauty and beast we all are,
A nimble prey that never stops running,
A fierce predator that stalks from afar;
Time is the gift that just keeps on giving.

Make use of your time or it will use you,
Live your best life, make every second count;
Dive in with both feet and see your dreams through,
Attack your goals like you are Mason Mount.

Time is our prison and what sets us free,
Time is all there ever was, is, will be.

Omg. I’ve been trying to send mine since I woke up but my network was acting up. I just tried again and it went through.

Sigh

I hope my entry is counted valid. :pensive:

Poem Type: Sonnet
Poem Theme: Time

Time is the greatest gift~~

Time is the greatest blessing.
Use your time well, there is no turning back.
Time becomes the solution to problems.
Time doesn’t end but life ends

The time will come when problems arise.
There will be time, betrayals occur,
There comes a time when love dies
If time; solves them.

Time is the cure for love and lovelessness.
Love that begins over time matures over time.
Time happens, love increases, time decreases.
The time comes, love ends untimely.

Solutions are sought by talking over time.
Sometimes advice is taken from elders.
In time, all hope fades.
Take care of yourself while there is time.

THE TIME

How much time does time have?
Since I left, I feel yes
This longing that comes and goes
And explodes right in the middle of me.

Saudade is a bomb thrown
From below and above the Equator
Time is like an ally
That comes to keep the pain away.

Time together is joy
Time away is nostalgia
I take time and swallow

I transform pain into wisdom.
This time that comes and goes, I follow
Without knowing how much time time has.

Congratulations to the winners :clap::raised_hands::raised_hands:!
@AshleyC @
I want to emphasize on the results, I think you guys should always be conscious when you do certain things here because it is meant to go public.
The theme says compose a sonnet with rhymes, I have carefully read through all the entries and I can’t find any rhyme in the entries of your winners, example is your first position, can you show us the rhymes in that write-up please? If you said it’s
Rhymes then stick to it.

I for one feel that this results is not fair enough because I sense some funny play.
Moving forward, you can allow the larger community to pass a vote or find another alternative instead of leaving it in the hands of few people that may end up favouring themselves and friends.

Great job! :+1:
I don’t mean to offend anyone please
Cheers!!!

Thank you for your observation.

We appreciate your feedback. Picking from what you have posted, it would be unfair to the winners to say they were all favoured.

The winners deserved to win, kindly check the poems to analyse their Rhyme Schemes but to say that they do not deserve the winning spots is a bit unfair.

Best Wishes.
