Chapter One Global Charity Foundation, also known as C1 Foundation, is a dynamic organization of artists dedicated to helping artists. At the heart of our mission is the goal of bridging the gap between traditional NGO systems and decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) systems, utilizing the innovative power of web3 technology for the greater good of society. One of our recent initiatives involved empowering talented individuals associated with three exceptional NGOs to create unique and captivating Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) for sale on the NEAR blockchain NFT marketplace. This endeavor aimed to support the creative community in Nigeria by providing the funding and resources necessary for the creation of exceptional artworks while simultaneously introducing these artists to the world of blockchain and NEAR.
Objectives
Our proposal had three key objectives:
- Empowering Creatives: Our primary objective was to support and provide resources to five NGOs, helping them to produce exceptional artworks that could be transformed into NFTs.
- Financial Support: The C1 Guild allocated funds to the participating NGOs, enabling them to purchase art supplies, equipment, and other essential materials for their creative process. This financial support aimed to alleviate the financial burdens on the artists, allowing them to focus on their artistic endeavors.
- NFT Creation and Marketplace: The creatives received guidance in the process of creating NFTs from their artworks. The C1 Guild facilitated their entry into the NEAR blockchain NFT marketplace, connecting them with potential buyers and investors from around the world.
Activities and Achievements
C1’s NGO Selection and Support:
C1 Foundation collaborated with three outstanding NGOs, namely, Little Saints Orphanage, Hope At Last Orphanage, and Sesor NGO. As part of our commitment to these organizations, we delivered not only art supplies but also essential items, including chairs, TV sets, food items, and toiletries. These provisions were aimed at improving the overall living conditions of the beneficiaries, thereby enabling them to focus on their artistic talents.
Artwork Materials and Guidance:
Additionally, we supplied these talented individuals with artwork materials and provided a video tutorial to assist them in producing high-quality artworks suitable for NFT creation. Our goal was to ensure they had access to the tools and knowledge required for their creative endeavors.
C1 and Little Saints Seminar:
The highlight of our NGO activities was a seminar jointly organized by C1 and Little Saints Orphanage, titled “Sharing Blockchain Knowledge with NGOs.” This educational event drew the participation of over 150 attendees. During this seminar, participants were exposed to valuable insights into blockchain technology and related topics, with a special focus on NFTs. They received comprehensive information on how to mint NFTs on Mintbase, the NEAR NFT marketplace, and were guided on creating NEAR wallets. Many of the attendees were successfully onboarded onto the NEAR blockchain.
Conclusion
The initiative led by the C1 Foundation in collaboration with these remarkable NGOs has been a resounding success. We have not only provided essential support and resources to empower talented artists but have also equipped them with the knowledge and tools required to thrive in the digital art space, particularly through NFT creation. Through the power of blockchain technology and the NEAR blockchain NFT marketplace, we are helping these artists gain recognition on a global scale and achieve self-reliance.
The program was a creative and educational event, showcasing the transformative potential of technology and art in changing lives. The artists supported by the C1 Foundation are well on their way to becoming self-reliant, contributing to the cultural and economic development of their communities and the broader artistic landscape. This initiative exemplifies the positive impact that collaborative efforts between NGOs, artists, and blockchain technology can have in empowering individuals and communities for a brighter future.
