Voices of Wisdom → Website Page.
Our world is changing. We are offering a new education model designed to bridge the teachings of elders with the youth.
Voices of Wisdom consists of:
- An ongoing documentary series featuring wisdomkeepers, healers and human-rights leaders from around the world, with a focus on indigenous elders, rooted in traditional, cultural lineage.
- A youth workshop program and curriculum designed for classroom education, mainly High-School and college-age, held either in-person or virtually.
At Seven Vision DAO, we produce the original educational content of documentary series to be utilized in correspondence with the youth education component.
Our new Voices of Wisdom project is building upon our new documentary Voices of the Wisdomkeepers.
We believe it’s important to be proactive to document the wisdom of our elders while they are still here.
We are currently planning upcoming workshops in Oregon in collaboration with NAAME and Keys, Beats, Bars.
Problem
As we face the challenge of decreasing in-person community and embodied social connection, we recognize that youth growing up today are especially vulnerable to toxic virtual landscapes. Educators may find it difficult to engage youth and maintain interest and attention through virtual classrooms, in a social-media environment of high-speed information and screen-time overload.
We live in the age of information where wisdom is hardest to find. It isn’t a lack of information, it is overwhelm to the point where we have no understanding of what is important. We are aiming to restore a connection between the youth and wisdom of the elders, by first meeting them where they are and offering guidance for ways of restoring connection within oneself, one’s environment and one’s community.
Solution
Voices of Wisdom meets the youth where they are, offering impactful engaging audio / visual / storytelling pieces that can spark interest for a new learning experience.
People all over the world are recognizing that a new story is needed and our work is meant to offer the younger generation access to vital wisdom of the elders and be given support to recognize themselves as valuable and to be a part of creating solutions, grounded in community-values and traditional life-ways.
We are excited to be collaborating with NEAR and project partners for this creative journey! And we look forward to connecting with community members and seeing how our work aligns
