We’ll take an average of the USD to NEAR rate during the five days period which we will need to check the reward claims. Everyone’s claim will be converted at the same time and at the same rate to make sure it’s fair.
The payout still happens in NEAR. Contributors can still hold NEAR to support the development of the token or wait until the rates become more favorable. What matters is the general idea that we are all doing this together to support the development of the NEAR protocol ecosystem.
