Ethereum Monterrey Community Event: Unlocking the Benefits of Meta Pool.
1st Milestone (Planning and Coordination)
Secure Venue and Speaker
The event will be held in Metapatio (https://maps.app.goo.gl/xpKwJ3rvgcLtsDUb7) a spacious place with industrial food court, outdoor seating offering comfort fare and craft brewery. The venue has capacity for over 200 people, and we have already hosted previous events in here (i.e. Base meetup)
Our main speaker will be Abraham Rivera, an active member of the Meta Pool ecosystem with extensive experience hosting Meta Pool events, spaces, and educating through conferences and workshops. Additionally, we will have other speakers, including Rallsen.eth and Abraham Fuga, who will give introductory talks and twitter spaces leading up to the event.
Workshop content
The primary focus of the workshop will be to educate users without prior experience on several key aspects of cryptocurrency engagement. Participants will learn the detailed process of acquiring tokens for staking, including the necessary steps for bridging assets between different platforms. The workshop will also cover the fundamentals of adding liquidity to pools, ensuring users understand how to contribute to and benefit from liquidity pools. Furthermore, attendees will be guided through the procedures for participating in governance voting, encompassing the entire lockup process required to secure voting rights. This comprehensive workshop aims to equip beginners with the essential knowledge and skills needed to effectively engage in the Meta Pool ecosystem.

Engage with community through social media and local networks
We’ve collaborated with Abraham Rivera and Priscila Aguirre to create a short video about staking on MetaPool to help promote our upcoming event. The video highlights the benefits of staking and how it can be leveraged within MetaPool’s ecosystem. We’re excited to share this with our community! Watch the video on Twitter here: x.com (~1,800 views)
We are also excited to announce that we will be hosting our inaugural Twitter Space on August 28th as part of the lead-up to our event. During this session, we will share detailed information about the event, introduce our distinguished speakers, enhance visibility, and address any questions or concerns. We look forward to engaging with our community and providing valuable insights as we prepare for this upcoming event.

3rd Milestone (Event Execution)
The event held at Metapatio was a resounding success, despite the heavy rainstorm that day. We had a great turnout with the attendees of the event who braved the weather to participate.
One of the highlights of the event was the amazing merch provided by the Ethereans team, which was well-received by everyone. Attendees also enjoyed an excellent selection of refreshments, including cocktails, drinks, and delicious pizzas.
To join the merch giveaway, we asked attendees to share pictures of themselves at the event on social media, tagging Metapool and Ethereum MTY. Here are a few examples:

The vibrant atmosphere, great company, and engaging discussions made the evening truly memorable.

4th Milestone (Post-Event Evaluation)
Earlier this month, we held a highly anticipated event at Metapatio focused on Metapool. Despite heavy rain, we had an impressive turnout with approximately 88 attendees. To gather insights and improve future events, we contacted both attendees and non-attendees for feedback and distributed a Google form for further evaluation.
Key Feedback Insights
- Overall Enjoyment: Attendees highlighted the quality of the content and the engagement of the speakers. Metapool’s innovative solutions and clear explanations left a strong impression. A few participants mentioned that they gained a deeper understanding of liquid staking, thanks to the accessible format.
- Networking Opportunities: The networking portion of the event was praised, with several attendees commenting on the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and industry professionals. However, some mentioned that more structured networking sessions would enhance the experience.
- Event Logistics: While most were satisfied with the venue, the rain affected some aspects of the event. Several attendees pointed out that outdoor areas became unusable, limiting space for interactions. Additionally, a few individuals mentioned that the sound system could have been clearer, especially given the unexpected crowd size and weather.
- Non-Attendees’ Feedback: We also reached out to those who couldn’t attend, and many cited the heavy rain as a significant factor. Some mentioned logistical constraints, such as traffic delays and road closures, which hindered their ability to make it. However, a number expressed their interest in future events and praised the initiative.
Areas for Improvement
- Better Weather Contingency Planning: While the turnout was excellent, many agreed that the rain impacted the event’s flow. Moving forward, we could explore indoor backup options or temporary shelters to mitigate weather-related disruptions.
- More Structured Networking: Several participants suggested adding designated networking sessions or “breakout” groups during the event to facilitate introductions and discussions, making it easier to connect.
- Sound System Enhancement: With the larger-than-expected crowd and background noise due to the rain, the sound quality could have been better. Ensuring higher-quality audio equipment for future events is a priority.
- Follow-up Communications: Attendees appreciated the opportunity to follow up with speakers after the event, but some suggested a more formalized post-event contact system, such as group chats or shared contact lists, to maintain the momentum.
Conclusion
Overall, the event was a success, with excellent engagement from those who attended. The rain played a major role in shaping the experience for both attendees and those unable to come, but it was clear that there is a strong interest in Metapool and similar initiatives. We are excited to incorporate the feedback into future events, ensuring even greater turnout and satisfaction.
