Dear community members & moderator,
August has seen our community IRL scale up substantially.
In terms of metrics/numbers:

We are now at 694 followers on instagram in under 3 months of existence. We estimate that around twice this number has attended our events as at least half of the friend circles attending our events are following us so this takes this number to around 1400 attendees which averages to around 175 people per event. This seems slightly excessive considering the capacity of the venue which is around 100 standing but it might make sense if we consider circulation throughout the event as some of our programming is daytime and some night time.

We are about to catch up with our payments thus partly fulfilling our web3/Near onboarding mission. Our treasury on Astrodao now has 53 proposals. I am saying partly above as we are considering this to be just a beginning of longer journey of exploring the vast landscape of web3. We are confident that we have sparked considerable interest so far and our conversations with each project we’ve onboarded is ongoing on and off events. The wallet we have created are now mostly active users and have at least engaged with our treasury if not more. They are :

In some cases we were also able to include introductory knowledge of Ref Finance for swaps, liquidity provision and farming. Last but not least we’ve done some work on our onboarding process to with new videos we intend to roll out once proofed and refined. -
Our socials have been picked up by a number of promotional outlets such as Lisbon Weekly and Lisabout who regularly do stories about our events which we believe had positive network effects and will continue to do so
Events
- We had to replace alive act on the 28th August due to unforeseen unavailability of Francisco Noguiera Quintet. The replacement act was Apophenia which has worked out to be great. Our newly formed resident trio Inception trio has come out of this collaboration. They remain to be onboarded however we have already onboarded most of the artists we worked with during the month of August. We delivered 4 events in August on the following dates : 7th August, 14th August, 21st August & 28th August. Each of them has promotion and pictures accounting for attendance on our instagram feed. We are not able to share a folder of these because of the number and size of the pictures as they already take considerable time to upload to instagram. Following each event’s promotion we post individually about each project to promote it and complete it with a final post with pictures of the actual event so it is fairly easy to see what happened. We also promote our events and facebook (where we buy promotion) and Resident Advisor. We are working on developing our social media strategy to include twitter eventually. We need a twitter specialist so might eventually put out a bounty to the community to make this happen.
Collaboration and community engagement
- In terms of collaborations we are now in conversation with a number of other DAOs such as Nomadelabel, Dao Records, Plantasia, Muti Dao , Art Dao to develop projects and opportunity for scaling up but also learning as we have a lot to learn as a relatively new DAO. Our partner venue has offered us to work on a large scale event encompassing the 4 floors and the rooftop once a month from November on. This would be a monthly festival where we could host up to 1700 people if we use the entire building. This we believe is a great opportunity to include/develop collaborations with other Daos with diverse/complimentary activies. This event would also present educational opportunity as it would be an event spanning from the daytime to the later night time. Its recurrence once a month would provide follow up and consistency so we look forward to seeing this come to life. A recent collaboration we’ve been working on with one of our community member is now being partly funded by our September budget which is Stepping Stones Festival in Nigeria. We’ve also been working on our first bounty to the community in order to outsource the design of a new logo.
Legal & regulatory
- In terms of legal/financial matters and we’ve been referred by our institutional partner to their financial consultant/accountant to start work on our legal wrapper and taxes to comply with regulation here in Portugal so we are excited to see where this takes us even if it is work that is slightly less exciting.
