Changes: Names and Spaces!
Four exhibition spaces have been built.
The left “Gallery of the Sacred”: Where we host solo exhibitions.
The name was chosen, because we believe that the sacred and profane are part of our spirits, and that art as being an extension of this, deserves a place to invite the other to look.
In the center, second floor: “Gambiarra Gallery”, is a memorial describing what it is and how GAMBIARRA DAO came about.
In the center, second floor: “Members and Advisors Gallery”, this space will house the photo and/or art of the people who “affectionately manage/care for” Gambiarra DAO.
Water Geodesic Gallery: This gallery would house the videos of @carlos’ video proposals but due to technical changes I had to choose a photograph to open the space.
It is a meditative place.
It houses works linked to recitals, interpretations, and theatrical exhibitions, such as videos and photos.
Inspired in the Brazilian, Tupiniquim aesthetics, in the constructions of African Matrix religious spaces, in the sacred geometry and elements of Nature, especially flora, we invite you to visit us.
The construction and curation of the spaces is done by Natasha Cremonese, visionary artist, curator, meta-architect, Arts Teacher, Graduated in Licentiate in Visual Arts and post-graduated in Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous History and Culture.
“Gallery of the Sacred”, received 3 applications for solo exhibition in the space, and then as curator I chose @marcos and his magnificent works linked to religions of African Matrix. I feel honored to be the curator of 11 works that Marcos sent after the result of his approval in the application. This is the first solo exhibition of the artist and photographer. Describing his work, he says:
" My photographic art transits through several strands, from nature photography, through artistic photography, URBEX photography (abandoned spaces), to which I have been documenting since 2012, being one of my main work of documentation. Among the religions of African matrix, my photographic documentary art focuses on the Tambor de Mina in the state of São Paulo, where I emphasize this segment that left São Luís, for very few states in Brazil. My photographic art is engaged and political, dedicated to the black people."
