Referral Program Impact Report
This report presents the first results from Meta Pool’s Referral Program pilot, which was initially tested with a select group of community ambassadors, moderators, and grantees. The goal of this early-stage rollout was to evaluate the mechanics of the program, assess participation patterns, and gather key insights before expanding the initiative to a broader user base.
1. General Summary
-
Total Amount (Stake + Restake): 6,603,817,709
-
Total Referred Amount: 7,770.32
-
Referral Contribution: 0.00012% of the total
Main Insight:
Referrals account for a very small share of overall stake/restake volume (approximately 0.00012%), indicating that while referral activity exists, it is not yet driving significant volume. Consider revisiting incentive structures or promotion channels to boost participation.
2. Monthly Analysis
Below is a breakdown by month of (1) total stake + restake volume and (2) referred volume (rows where referral_code is numeric). Percentages show referred amount as a share of total volume.
| Month | Total Volume | Referred Volume | Referral % |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oct 2024 | 78,132,310 | 48.55 | 0.00006% |
| Nov 2024 | 24,596,950 | 374.83 | 0.00152% |
| Dec 2024 | 1,525,216,000 | 870.30 | 0.00006% |
| Jan 2025 | 3,656,386 | 1,027.09 | 0.02809% |
| Feb 2025 | 1,501,819 | 969.56 | 0.06456% |
| Mar 2025 | 3,815,476 | 2,645.01 | 0.06932% |
| Apr 2025 | 262,771.8 | 1,240.37 | 0.47203% |
| May 2025 | 4,966,636,100 | 594.61 | 0.00001% |
- Month with Highest Referral Percentage:
-
April 2025 at 0.47203%. Although the absolute referred amount (1,240.37) is not the highest, April’s relatively low total volume (262,771.8) causes referrals to represent nearly half a percent.
-
Insight: A likely promotional push or specific incentive in April 2025 drove higher referral penetration. Investigate any campaigns or events during that month.
- Month with Lowest Referral Percentage:
-
May 2025 at 0.00001%. Despite a very large total volume (4,966,636,100), the referred volume was only 594.61.
-
Insight: Referral activity waned significantly in May 2025—review whether tracking issues, reduced promotion, or other factors led to this drop.
- Overall Trend:
-
Referred volumes trend upward from October 2024 to April 2025, but the ratio varies in line with total volume fluctuations.
-
The spike in April 2025 (highest relative rate) followed by a collapse in May 2025 again underscores the likely impact of time-limited promotions or external events.
3. Network Analysis
Only rows with a valid numeric referral_code were included:
| Network | Referred Amount | % of Total Referred Volume |
|---|---|---|
| near | 3,371.69 | 43.39% |
| ip | 2,786.43 | 35.86% |
| q | 867.00 | 11.16% |
| aurora | 695.77 | 8.95% |
| solana | 49.35 | 0.64% |
| ethereum | 0.06 | 0.0008% |
| icp | 0.01 | 0.0002% |
-
Dominant Networks:
-
near accounts for 43.39% of all referred volume.
-
ip follows with 35.86%.
-
-
Insight: Referral success is concentrated in the near and ip networks. solana and ethereum show almost no referral activity (0.64% and 0.0008%, respectively). Consider targeted marketing or tailored incentives in those lower-performing chains to broaden reach.
4. Country Analysis
Again, only transactions with a numeric referral_code were grouped:
| Country | Referred Amount | % of Total Referred Volume |
|---|---|---|
| Global | 4,185.84 | 53.87% |
| Indonesia | 1,249.66 | 16.08% |
| South Korea | 790.00 | 10.17% |
| Vietnam | 495.54 | 6.38% |
| Ukraine | 175.11 | 2.25% |
| Venezuela | 170.66 | 2.20% |
| Mexico | 119.34* | 1.53% |
| Argentina | 93.00 | 1.20% |
| Philippines | 44.30 | 0.57% |
| India | 35.00 | 0.45% |
| Thailand | 3.93 | 0.05% |
| Nigeria | 2.00 | 0.03% |
Note: “Mexico” appears twice in the raw data (37.64 and 81.70), summed here as 119.34.
-
Top Country:
-
The category Global (unassigned or aggregated) makes up 53.87% of all referral volume, suggesting many transactions lack a specific country tag.
-
Indonesia is second at 16.08%, followed by South Korea at 10.17%.
-
-
Insight: Because “Global” dominates, it’s difficult to target actual regions. Enforce or encourage country entry at user onboarding or transaction time to enable more actionable geographic segmentation.
5. Individual Analysis
Grouped by the name field among all rows with valid referral_code:
| Referrer Name | Referred Amount | % of Total Referred Volume |

| voodoo.king | 93.00 | 1.20% |
| @nnhi77 | 84.36 | 1.09% |
| (others…) | … | … |
-
Top Referrers:
-
maxone.lens (15.64%)
-
coineasy (10.17%)
-
@meta_pool (8.57%)
-
-
Insight: Rewarding and acknowledging these high-performing referrers (e.g., spotlighting them in a leaderboard or issuing bonus tokens) will help sustain and grow referral momentum.
6. Key Insight
-
The near network drives 43.39% of all referred volume, followed by ip at 35.86%. This concentration suggests those chains have favorable conditions—whether due to lower fees, stronger community engagement, or better awareness—for referral adoption.
-
In April 2025, referrals reached their highest relative share (0.47203% of that month’s total). Although in absolute terms the volume is modest, this relative peak implies a successful, time-limited campaign or event.
7. Conclusion
- Overall Referral Contribution Is Minimal:
- At only 0.00012% of the overall stake/restake volume, referrals have not yet moved the needle significantly.
- Concentration by Network and Month:
-
Networks: nearly 80% of referral volume comes from near and ip combined.
-
Temporal Spike: April 2025 saw a referral penetration spike (0.47203%), indicating that targeted efforts can meaningfully boost adoption.
- Incomplete Demographic Data:
-
Over half of referred transactions are labeled “Global,” preventing precise geographic targeting.
-
Encourage or require accurate country and user metadata to improve future segmentation.
8. Recommendations
- Improve Country & User Data Collection
-
Make the “Country” field mandatory during account creation or at first transaction.
-
This ensures referrals can be segmented by geography and tailored marketing efforts can be more effective.
- Replicate April 2025 Campaign Elements
-
Identify which incentives—bonus structure, promotional channels, or partnerships—drove April’s 0.47203% penetration.
-
Reproduce those tactics (e.g., limited-time bonus, cross-platform collaboration) in other months.
- Expand Efforts to Under-Performing Networks
-
Solana (0.64% of referrals) and Ethereum (0.0008%) show almost no referral activity.
-
Launch network-specific campaigns, perhaps collaborating with developer communities, to drive awareness and adoption.
- Incentivize Top Referrers
-
Allocate extra rewards, badges, or public recognition to users like maxone.lens, coineasy, and @meta_pool.
-
Implement a recurring “Top Referrer” leaderboard visible on the platform and in newsletters.
- Boost Overall Visibility of the Referral Program
-
Because current referral volume is negligible compared to total activity, integrate referral messaging more prominently:
- Homepage banners, dashboard notifications, and periodic email reminders.
-
Create a clear value proposition (e.g., “Refer a friend, get X tokens if they stake ≥ Y”) so users understand exactly what they earn.
